We had an amazing stay here! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the live music created a fantastic atmosphere. Visiting the Aran Islands was the absolute highlight of our trip to Ireland, and staying here made the experience even more memorable. We would happily recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

Went straight to Flahertys from ferry for delicious panini sandwiches and beers. Got lucky with a beautiful day and took it all in wile eating. Language lessons fascinated us at nearby table. Then horse and cart ride tour showed us the beauty of this magical island.

After spending the day exploring ruins, beaches, ancient sites, and enough stone walls to last a lifetime, we eventually did what any reasonable visitors would do on a small Irish island… we found the local pub. Nothing fancy, nothing tourist-trap polished. Just a place run by island locals where you could sit down, warm up a bit from the Atlantic wind, grab a drink, and eat something simple while looking back over the day. I ended up with sausages, chips, and a drink, which honestly felt perfect after walking across half the island. There is something oddly satisfying about pub food in Ireland. It is rarely complicated, but somehow always hits exactly right when you have spent the day outside in cool air and sea wind. One thing I noticed across Ireland is how much these smaller pubs feel tied to the local community instead of existing just for tourists. Conversations going around you, familiar faces walking in, kids and older locals mixed together, everybody knowing each other. It feels lived in instead of staged. Sitting there on Inis Oírr after seeing Bronze Age sites, castle ruins, hidden churches, shipwreck stories, and water clearer than I expected from the Atlantic felt like the right ending to the visit before catching the ferry back.

This review is coming 4 years later which should tell you something. We came to Ireland on our honeymoon in April 2022, we took a boat tour to the cliffs of moher and stopped at this island for lunch. At that time this was the only bar open and to this day we STILL talk about the fish and chips. Since then we’ve been to a few other countries and we always end up talking about THIS meal. Heck, we’ve even been to London and none of their fish and chips could hold a candle to this. Someday we will come back to this tiny island and this cute little bar and enjoy another delicious meal, until then we will suffer and hold on to the wonderful memory of our favorite meal, our most unexpected dining experience that showed that even simple things can be incredible and unforgettable.

It was a warm welcome, especially thanks to the fireplace, which was roaring with fire when we arrived. Our coats were also dried there.🙃. The host is nice, the hot chocolate is very delicious. Thank you!

Glas Restaurant

16/05/2026: The host was amazing! Eddie definitely made our night memorable. The lamb was really good, but the monk fish was definitely the best I ever had (it’s a most try). The pavlova was alright, however it was advised to try the vegan mousse, which retrospectively we should have followed the advise. Never posted a review, but everything was so great that felt the need to. PS: we had the mussels as a starter and it was amazing!!
01/04/2026: I was attending a wedding in hotel Doolin and I had the opportunity to have the breakfast at Glas. It was absolutely outstanding. The pictures speak for themselves. I had the smoked fish and it was one of the best breakfasts ive ever had. Superb service.
