What a true fantastic pub! Loved it and loved the atmosphere. Will definitely be back!

Popped into JB Mahoney recently and honestly, what a find. It’s got that rare mix of proper character and a genuinely warm atmosphere that makes you feel like a regular, even if it’s your first visit. The Guinness? Spot on, creamy, smooth, poured with care. You can tell they take pride in it, which is more than you can say for a lot of places. And if you haven’t tried the Algerian, you’re missing out – bold, rich, and absolutely delicious. A proper pint to remember. The bar staff are brilliant, friendly, funny, and somehow manage to keep everything running smoothly even when it's packed. Even, the teachers chap I was speaking to inside. JB Mahoney’s strikes that perfect balance: welcoming, down-to-earth, but with real quality behind the bar. Whether you're in for a quiet one or a few rounds with mates, this place just gets it right.

Great staff and a lovely authentic atmosphere

By far, my favourite pub in Ireland. The staff are absolute masters of their craft - shout out to Paddy! - and the pints are simply gorgeous. The atmosphere is great, the place is clean and tidy, the walls full of stories. A perfect pub as it is, and I can’t wait for the next time I’m there.
