04/06/2026: I can't say enough about our experience at Silken Thomas. The owners are clearly treating their staff well, because it shows in how the staff treat the clients. Everyone from Reception, to the Bar, to the Restaurant (for both dinner and breakfast), to the person who showed us to our room, had a smile on their face and looked happy to be there. We felt well taken care of and everything we ate was delicious. We both loved the location and the recent redo, especially the shower. Special shout out to the lovely room cleaners and management who went the extra-mile to not only reach out to me to let me know I'd left a t-shirt behind on the bed, but also posted it to me in Dublin. My offer to reimburse them for the postage fell on deaf ears. The t-shirt has an illustration of a dearly departed pet on it and means an enormous amount to me, so I'll never forget Silken Thomas's kindness. Aces from top to bottom.

07/06/2026: Amazing little restaurant. Came across it by accident recently and I'm so glad I did. The food was amazing and they also do really good cocktails. Great place for a nice evening out. Very pleasant staff and very accommodating for gluten free foods.

14/10/2026: Edit: The pub was very quick to respond and rectify the issue with the takeout - very much appreciated! While the food has always been great here anytime I've been, tonight we opted for take out, ordered 3 x 12 wings, received the nicely packed up bag, and upon unpacking at home, was extremely disappointed to find that I was missing 6 wings in one of the orders. For a restaurant to be as quiet as they were and still mess this up, pretty bad in my opinion.

06/10/2026: Great ambience/decor, amazing service and kind staff, plus the food is just delicious. Can't wait to go back! Highly recommend stopping by for just a drink or a whole meal.

08/08/2026: I was in the coffee Bar today, only to ask the barista if the bus stop was the one for Dublin Airport. Yes she told me, then proceeded to follow me out of The Coffee Bar to show me the app on her phone confirming our bus was on route. This act of kindness was so welcome & reassuring to anxious me & my post operation, in discomfort friend. I hope your manager knows what a treasure you are 🥰. I returned, after my friend was safely on her bus & bought an excellent coffee & sweet treat. Random acts of kindness along with great coffee will have me back. Thank you 😊.

04/08/2026: Come here nearly every week amazing coffee we go for a cycle around Kildare town and it’s a nice pit stop!!

21/09/2026: WOW. The scrambled egg on homemade soda bread was UNREAL. The bread was so tasty. And great value too at 7.95. RECOMMEND. The views and food are fab! Couldn’t even post a proper picture because I had already milled though it.. I got lost in the fast, then thought I have to write a review.

12/09/2026: We had peanut crunch bowl, middle eastern chicken bowl and two taco wraps and they were so flavourful. Perfect blend of crunchy veges with roasted chicken and amount of sauces. Taste was divine and chicken is halal. We'll recommend and will come to try other flavours too.

15/09/2026: Bit of mixed feelings about this place, it's hard to find the door, open the big door on the main street as if going into someone's house. It does have a big sign saying Open, but honestly? We weren't to sure if we had walked into someone's house. The decor is quite dark, the place is spotlessly clean. I had the open cheesy chicken cajun melt, the portion is enormous, it's very tasty. However, couldn't even finish it. I would have preferred the coleslaw and salad on the side. A smaller portion, salad on the side at a smaller portion would be ideal for lunch, at a cheaper price to cut down on waste. My son had the chunky? Roll, again, delicious, but the portion was too big. The food is lovely, staff are friendly. Another person had some eggs on toast, Again it looked delicious but definitely massive.
