Excellent bar and restaurant, great selection of food and perfect for family, friends and events

Ate here twice. Food on the first night was excellent (fish & chips / salmon salad). Second night was average. Very large and busy pub, very noisy in places but no problem finding a table. Good sized car park and a nature area for kids to play although beware they have to cross the car park to get there.

jack meades is jack meades. menu is the same as far as i can remember. I luv the salads, duno y. meat are sometimes dry, be it ribs or steak. chips are the same. burgers, basic. ull luv the ambiance tho. luv the feeling of being in the countryside.

Had shrimp and smoked salmon salad lovely but it needs a portion of chips not a huge portion

Absolutely beautiful food here, very very busy, friendly staff and most of all very reasonably priced. Definitely worth a visit.

Brilliant variety, fine big portions you certainly won't leave hungry. Play area for kids with tables outside alongside. Highly recommend.

More like canteen food and a feeding station for tourists.

Ordered the BBQ chicken plate. Creamy coleslaw, fresh greens with bell peppers, chips (fries), and a 1/2 chicken breast with the wing. It was already cooked, then seared on the open flame grill for serving. I was given a side of sauce that was very heavy on the curry, not a bbq flavor. My Irish companion said I was given the wrong sauce, as it's a dish she usually gets. Bartenders were friendly and helpful with the local brews.

As part of our Globus tour our group was treated to a great time at this historic pub. The owner/manager treated us like family. We were there on his regular closed day so we had the pub to our group. Entertainment, beer, snacks, we had a great time time. We had 31 people from our tour group.

Family-oriented, self-service mainly…..Being the bank holiday weekend with fine weather, the place was very busy with lots of families and very noisy with children of all ages. The staff were under pressure to serve everyone. Queues and waiting for one meal from the kitchen and the other carvery meant that one dinner was cold and my husband was nearly finished his by the time I got mine and had gone to the bar to get water. The place has lots of potential but it needs to be more stream-lined in its management and operation. There was a very broad menu which is great and the food was good and fairly priced, but the chaos of the set-up and lack of organisation made it disappointing for an older couple.
