We had little time on our first afternoon in Dublin and was staying at a hotel about a 20 minute walk from this place. Stopped in for a beer and what a beautiful bar! I think I heard the pub had been around for 200 years.... The staff was helpful and patient. We had drinks/beer and fish and chips. All of it was wonderful!

Foley's Bar

16/12/2025: The stew was delicious. I wasn't asked how it tasted during the meal, nor how the beer the bartender recommended tasted. It also has the feel of a cozy pub if you're with people you know, but if you're alone, you won't get any conversation. Not even if you're sitting at the bar; the staff don't seem particularly welcoming to tourists. Perhaps the bartender wasn't in the mood today; during quieter moments, he leaned against the bar rather than chatting.
28/11/2025: Booked the sitting room bar in Foleys Bar for my sisters hen party. The staff were fantastic to deal with from start to finish, so friendly, helpful and professional, especially Jazmine who dealt with our booking from the start and then Shane on the night. Thank you so much for everything!

10/01/2026: If you’re looking for a cute little pub whilst travelling this is the one! Such a nice environment, friendly staff and good price. My partner had the fish and chips and he said it was ‘flaversome and cooked well’. Don’t be alarmed if you order the sausage and mash as i ordered 2 of the kids sausage and mash as im not keen on pork and leek sausages so it wont look like this. The mash was definitely microwaved or reheated as its was quite tasteless but standard. Would definitely recommend if you are visiting Kilmainham gaol as it is right next door. Drinks are not overly priced as other places either !
