Jacob's Ladder Restaurant in Cobh

When I walked in the door, I said "wow" because of a beautiful restaurant with amazing views. Straight away a waiter (restaurant manager ?) dealt with us swiftly and professionally. What a beautiful restaurant, over the water with an outside waterside terrace. Sliding doors for when the weather is bad. While reading the menus, a waitress asks if we would like a drink. Perfect question while deciding what we will choose. This is the kind of restaurant service that is becoming rare in Ireland. Drinks arrive and we are ready to order. Perfect timing all round. I would expect to pay a premium price for the professional service and the location, but no ... the restaurant price point is the same as any normal restaurant. This was a lovely experience. Thank you.

We sat near the window so we would able to enjoy the view. Several veg options on the menu. Chickpea burger was very tasty and homemade. Thai veg curry was also nicely flavored but could use some more varied vegetables and of course could benefit from chickpeas, tofu or lentils for protein. Would return.

We had lunch and they have good vegan options, the dishes are large, you can have enough with one They also have good dishes with fish Good quality price It is wheelchair accessible They do not have adapted toilets

We ate here a few days ago. The restaurant came recommended and was close to our lodgings. The meal was ok, so we returned this evening. She had Braised Feather Blade of Beef. Slow cook beef that fell apart. Great flavour. Finally some good beef after a month in Ireland. He had the crusted Fillet of Hake in a prawn bisque. This dish was simple with wondeful flavours and quite exceptional! So glad we came to Cobh and had the opportunity to enjoy this meal.

Just ducked in here on the off chance, a busy night in Cobh with a cruise ship in town but they found us a table with no wait at all Service was good, didn’t have to wait for anything but left to enjoy our meal in peace. Food was really good and very reasonably priced. The balcony overlooking the harbour was lovely

Food was lovely, staff very attentive & pleasant.

The dishes have a very nice, balanced flavor and aren't overly salty, which is a big plus. The servings were also plentiful. However, the service staff could be a little more resourceful, but with a little guidance, like a child's hand, I could give them five stars for these hard-working and nice people and theVery Big thanks for do not asking me "is everything ok?" every five minutes. Their seafood chowder is a class.

Great restaurant with very friendly staff and fantastic food (fish and chips and red Thai curry). We got a table right away (for two people) and were allowed to choose whether we wanted to sit inside or outside. The drinks and food were brought to the table quickly. The prices are a bit high, but what is cheap these days, and Cobh is a tourist hotspot. All in all, very good.
