Superb location, minutes from Avondale Forest Park. Well priced menu something for all the family. Generous portions, great atmosphere with very friendly staff.
I stayed for 3 nights exploring the local trails.From start to finish I found all the staff very helpful and fun. My room was very comfortable and quiet. The pub has great live bands and it was clear to see Jacobs Well is loved by tourists and locals alike.The restaurant is busy and very popular.It was so good I'm coming back !

We walked up here from Hidden Valley for dinner and were so glad we did, excellent pub grub with a huge (smoke free!) beer garden out the back so loads of seating. Will visit again if we're in the area.
Had a lovely meal at Jacob’s Well! The food was really nice and the service was excellent too, with friendly and attentive staff who made us feel very welcome. A warm, relaxed atmosphere and a place I’d happily visit again.
23/03/2025: We went for a long walk in Avondale Forest and were just looking for a quick bite nearby. Man, what a gorgeous surprise! It was my son's girlfriend's birthday and we couldn't have stumbled upon better food. Creme of chicken had a lovely coconut twist. The pate was great. The starter prawns were spicy and full-flavoured. The steak was juicy, the burgers flavourful and the linguini fresh. Dessert menu was really good, everything fresh. We will definitely be back!
29/12/2024: We had a beautiful meal in Bates Restaurant. It was a lovely atmosphere, food delicious and service charming. Definitely recommend this restaurant. Deirdre Siobhan and Marian.
