Coffin Shed
Rathdrum
09/08/2026: We had breakfast here this morning , a gorgeous cafe in the centre of Rathdrum. We arrived at maybe 11am and it was super busy , the lady told us we could sit outside but to expect a wait as many people had arrived at once .
We only had to wait about 10 mins and our order was taken. The food followed quickly after .
The menu is limited as in it really specializes in a fry or breakfast roll. I got the workman's which was huge , it came with toast and tea or coffee for 15 quid .
I was stuffed all day .
The Sausages were the nicest I've had in a while and I appreciate the fact that you get more than just a spoonful a beans .
Girl serving us was super nice and we were really well looked after .
I'll definitely be back.
05/08/2026: Gorgeous spot. Lovely staff and fantastic food at a great price.

China Kitchen Bray
Rathdrum
30/07/2026: 2nd time here and a very filling feed to set you up for the day.
You are welcome to speak Irish with the owner as well. He is from Gaoth Dobhair!
Feel free to speak Irish with the owner. He's a Donegal man and some of his staff also speak Irish!
13/07/2026: Came across this lovely little cafe with my husband whilst on our way to Bray. We got a really warm welcome as soon as we entered. The owner, a Donegal man is so attentive and has a friendly word or chat everyone who comes through the door, whether for a take away roll or a sit coffee/down meal. We had a lovely Irish breakfast. This little cafe and owner are a breath of fresh air. It's so nice to have old fashioned personal "customer service". It would seem there is a regular bunch of customers who come into the cafe which is not at all surprising. I would definitely go back again and have not hesitation whatsoever in recommending The Kitchen Cafe. I hope he does really well.

Marsella's Take-Away Arklow
Rathdrum
01/07/2026: The chips in Marsella's are delicious. Freshly cooked and a full bag.
11/04/2026: Ordered a cheese burger . My burger had no cheese on it and was over loaded with raw onion with the thinnest beef patty I’d ever seen, which wasn’t fresh , tasted out of date. I threw it out after one bite.

Bates
Rathdrum
05/05/2025: Excellent food, a lovely meal . The owner was really friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend this restaurant. A lovely experience
27/04/2025: The Greek waiter was friendly. The salmon was nice but cold. The burger was terrible and not fresh at all (bacon was freezing cold, burger was warn heated in the microwave, buns was burnt, lettuce soggy), absolutely horrible. The kids Goujous was nuggets. The music was too loud for a restaurant. It was cold inside and I kept my coat on. We won't go back there again! Definitely, wasting money!

Hendley's Fish & Chips
Rathdrum
31/05/2025: Omg the meanest bag of chips I ever got. If I had of known how small the bag of chips was, i would have ordered 2 or 3. Maybe we are spoiled in our local chipper in wexford. But mother of God €4 for a literal handful of chips.
