Popped in for a pint on my first day in the city on several recommendations, and I was not lead astray. One of the best prices I paid in Dublin as well. Wish I made it back before I left the city.

Very friendly staff, good beer but the food sucks, small portions of mediocre quality. Our family spent two weeks in Ireland and this was the worst meal by far.

There’s nothing I can say that hasn’t been said already but I will echo the praise for Coddle and the Guinness. We went on a Sunday, had a couple of pints before joining the queue for the restaurant. The Waiting Staff are fantastic, those ladies earn their step count !!

Great pub, great Guinness and the food, we just had some nibbles but very nice. The pub is a bit of a throwback in time, lovely stuff!
Amazing pub and I would love to come back more often as I just moved into the area but selling 10€ pints of Guinness is ridiculous. We were having a great time until I saw the bank notification on my phone that I had paid 20€ for 2 drinks.
If that's what it has come to I might have to start warning tourists about here just like temple bar l.

Yummy, interesting history, super friendly servers, good value. Had the Irish egg rolls and cottle-yum! Again-the servers were sooooo nice and welcoming!

John Kavanagh’s, affectionately known as “The Gravediggers,” is a cherished Dublin institution that has been serving patrons since 1833. Nestled beside Glasnevin Cemetery, this family-run pub offers an authentic Irish experience, free from modern distractions like televisions and loud music. The interior exudes old-world charm, featuring traditional wooden furnishings and a cozy atmosphere that invites conversation. Renowned for its exceptional pints of Guinness, many consider it among the best in the city. The menu boasts hearty, home-cooked dishes, with the coddle being a standout favorite. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, a stop at The Gravediggers promises a warm welcome and a genuine taste of Dublin’s rich pub heritage.
