Myself and my wife had lunch here recently over a number of days. My wife is strict coeliac and we sometimes find it difficult to find places to eat that are not very limited in gluten free options. We were both thoroughly impressed with the service, staff, and food in Kates. My wife watched a staff member today prepare her sandwich with total reassurance by using separate utensils and changing her gloves before preparation and was thrilled with the very delicious sandwich served. Overall, the service, food and presentation and portion sizes were all 10/10 and great value for money and even though you might have to wait a little when they are very busy like today (all seats full inside and outside!) it is well worth the wait ! A huge thanks to Sarah for making us feel so welcome and going out of her way to explain gluten free options available and also to herself and her staff for their service with a smile even under extreme pressure Pat & Anita Kenny

Found this amazing cafe and it did the best coronation chicken wrap it was so good it had roasted peanuts and pineapple in which I would never have thought of adding. My brother had a cold meat salad which he thought was great and the cakes looked amazing but we were too full to sample them which we are now regretting.

We were left with our dinner plates EMPTY for 25 minutes… nobody came near us to offer anything … tea, coffee, dessert or our opinion. A number of staff too busy admiring a puppy. Perhaps more hospitality/restaurant training wouldn’t go amiss.

Called in for a breakfast, as part of a motorcycle tour. What a lovely place. Stunning food with good service and friendly staff. Beautiful - cannot recommend highly enough.
