Kelly Lou Cakes in Portlaoise

I was passing through Portlaoise at the weekend and wanted a quick bite to eat. I stopped at the Parkside Shopping Centre due to handy parking outside and went into Kelly Lou's. I chose a sausage roll and coleslaw and while it's something I like I seldom order it as they can be a bit hit and miss. However, on this occasion it was full of sausage meat with lovely flaky pastry and absolutely delicious. Just what a good sausage roll should be. It came with coleslaw, some salad and crisps and I enjoyed it immensely. I then had a lovely lemon cupcake and an equally lovely latte (in a tall glass the way a latte should be served but seldom are). All in all a delicious lunch and based on my experience I would definitely go there again if I was in Portlaoise.

amazing service and helpful staff. a girl with blonde hair was very helpful and sweet, and gave a free coffee after we ordered a cake for an occasion. would recommend 🫶🏻

Had a lovely visit to Kelly Lou Cakes today. The black coffee and cappuccino were really nice, the pancakes were fresh and tasty, and the sausage roll was great too. Friendly atmosphere and definitely worth stopping by!

I got a baby shower cake !! And it was absolutely delicious all the guests loved it! I also got a brownie when I was in shop and it was delightful

Kelly Lou Cakes created an absolutely phenomenal cake for our wedding. Not only did it look stunning—it was a real showpiece in the room and matched my flowers perfectly—but it tasted just as incredible. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about it, and it truly went down a treat with everyone. It was the perfect combination of beautiful design and amazing flavour. We were so delighted with it.

I got a cake for my daughter’s confirmation. Got the chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. So easy to order online and when I collected was met by a lovely staff member. The decoration was above and beyond. I was really impressed with the flavour and density of the cake! Everyone wanted to know where I got it from. Highly recommend

We stopped off here on our way to Limerick - found it online. Food was great but the staff were even better. The woman who served us went out of her way to find us a table even though the place was packed. Highly recommend this wee spot.

Café and cakery inside a shopping centre. I was skeptical but it's quite gorgeous inside. A few tables available even on Saturday morning. Quiet and enjoyable environment. Both the shakshouka and the luxe porridge were excellent, and the cinnamon bun was scrumptious. Service was fast and polite. We'll be back with friends!

The staff at Kelly Lou's are so kind. Service is fantastic and the bakery and drinks are some of the best I've ever had, lovely. We were in Portlaoise for the day, popped in here to get a coffee. The lady behind the till was so lovely, I didn't get her name, but she brought my nephew down a free cake pop and he was delighted. Next time we are in Portlaoise we will definitely come here again.
