Family business with full bar good pub food and good service and shop with everything from hardware building supplies and paint even animal feeds and normal shop for small weekly shop too from fresh to frozen goods

We ran in to escape the cold rain and we were the only ones there but service was great and they have fires in the fireplaces to warm and dry us.

Excellent welcome, guaranteed smiles and precise service. We had the soup and the salmon, smoked mackerel from the region. Delicious. The sides too! The pickled onions are superb.

We went here for lunch/brunch. It’s a very cosy and tidy pub. The staff were friendly, and the food portions were good size. I really liked my soup, it was rich and flavourful. I highly recommend this place and will probably come back again.

The Seven Horseshoes

23/10/2025: We spent a week in Belturbet for family and buisness reasons. After having a meal in the seven horseshoes, well, we had 3 more dinners there day after day. I tend to travel quite a bit in Ireland, and I can say without a doubt this has probably the best quality food I have had the good pleasure of having, combined with lovely service , and a great feel. Plates came out hot, food was prepared on the spot to the highest quality, and the open fire lent the place even a better ambiance. Would return without a doubt, and recommend anyone going through Cavan to have a meal there. I guarantee you wont be disappointed.
29/09/2025: Enjoyed a great dinner here recently. Delicious food. Excellent combination of local bar & top class restaurant. Highly recommend.

Killashee Hotel

16/02/2026: Absolutely stunning hotel, every little corner of the hotel is well designed and gives a feeling on a heritage property with large chandeliers and timeless artwork, the pippin restaurant severs elaborate buffets and delicious dishes, it is an experience, would love to come back here even he gym, sauna, steam and jacuzzi are amazing
11/02/2026: Firstly great for EVs Comfy rooms, superb service and stunning setting. This place has a few restaurants multiple bars and great to just find a spot for a meeting. The leisure centre lets it down compared with similar hotels as it’s starting to look a bit tired. Other than that it’s a regular of mine and definitely worth a stay or two.
