What a truly lovely Japanese restaurant. Staff are very nice and the food is always perfect and always fresh. I've eaten here a lot and never experienced anything less than perfect. Highly recommend

I left a 5 star review a year ago because the standard was higher other than delivery used to be up to an hour. Now it’s ready in less than 5 minutes, but sushi comes warm and chicken not as cooked, staff not too sharp at finding deliveries so you end up waiting longer than the food took to be made

We visited for a celebratory dinner, having read the reviews on tripadvisor. Having had a lovely meal at a Japanese fusion restaurant when on holiday, we looked forward to finding similar food closer to home. The restaurant itself is more Cafe sized, but the decor is fresh, modern and clean. I would advise booking though, if eating at a busy time. For the meal, we ordered gyoza as a starter, and 4 mains. The gyoza were excellent, just the right amount of crisp and soft, with a great filling. The mains were a decent portion size, served at a good temperature, and well presented. The Katsu was really good, likewise the teriyaki beef. However, the other two dishes, the duck in mango sauce and Koshiba yaki soba, were slightly underseasoned with their sauces lacking in punch. They were still lovely, but not as flavourful as the other two mains. The mango sauce did not taste of mango or have that tangy acidity you'd expect to cut through the richness of the duck. The Yaki Soba sauce was also underwhelming, but it IS advertised as light, so it's probably just a matter of taste and I certainly would not feel hard done by if I ordered it. Service was friendly and prompt, and I must give a special mention to the cleanliness of the kitchen area. It is visible when you enter the restaurant and looks spotless. The work surfaces were gleaming and tidy, and i would certainly give two thumbs up for hygiene.
