A great location, in the basement. We happened to walk past here and made a reservation. Delicious food, quiet atmosphere and very friendly staff. Highly recommended.

This is one of the most special restaurants you will ever come across. My friends and I were traveling through Ireland this March and stumbled upon this place. It got great reviews, and we had time to kill before our bus out of town. The food was exceptional, and the owner/staff were exceptionally kind. The hit of the night was the owner’s wife’s homemade pistachio cheesecake. One of the best desserts I have ever tasted. One of the members of our party ordered it, we all tried it, and ended up ordering 3 additional slices so the rest of the group could enjoy it was THAT GOOD. The restaurant staff are some of the kindest people we have come across in all of Ireland. When our bus out of town never showed up at night, they were so kind to help us figure it out as it was getting late, our phones were low battery, and most of the businesses in town had closed including the bus company’s customer service office. The cook even had his daughter on the phone looking up additional ways for us to get back to Killarney where we were staying. If you are looking for a lovely meal, a cozy atmosphere, and exceptional service from kind-hearted staff this is the place to come!

We came here on our one night stay in Limerick and had such an amazing experience.
The place very charming, but is a bit hidden. We walked down some stairs and rang the doorbell. Were greated by two very nice and polite servers. It felt a bit like being greeted for dinner at a friends. We ordered the carbonara and lasagna with salad for dinner. The carbonara was good but the lasagna was one of the best I have ever had at a restaurant!
We decided to get some desert. My husband had the tiramisu and I had the coppa amarena (vanilla ice cream with black cheeries). We could not stop eating the coppa amarena. So simple, yet so good.
I have to say, as soon as I sat down I had the feeling of being hugged by my grandmother. It would actually have been her birthday the day we went to La Poccola Italia, and I definitely thought of her when we had our dinner. This would have been a restaurant she would have frequented if it had been available in our country.

Strange place
Staff super friendly and makes you feel like home but
It's all old and not in a good way it screams for renovation when you go in you have a waiting couch that is right in front of men's toilet and it smells that makes u want to leave and honestly we'd leave if we were not seated almost immediately.
Food was good yet again nothing exceptional and especially my wife's past main course was more of a starter size at least in my opinion.

Food was generally OK. Mussels for starter were very good. Main - the Filetto al Pepe - tasty, but presentation very poor. This medallions in pepper sauce looks like a blob on the plate. It was served with some sliced and roasted potatoes, which were fine, but a piece of cauliflower and brocoli served with this dish in my opinion does not work at all. Tiramisu for the dessert was ok. Restaurant does not have any sweetener for coffee and waitress offered honey instead. Well, that is also sugar...
Place is a bit run down - hanging bare wires from the ceiling, not build in properly aircon unit, so it is not adding at all to the atmosphere.

Okay, but our mains and dessert dishes were disappointing. Maybe we were just unlucky with our picks. Service was great.
