11/01/2025: Food is excellent here reasonably priced well worth a visit

07/01/2025: Unfortunately our stay at The Kingsley was a bit of a disappointment. Upon arrival we could see that the hotel itself was lovely, we could tell that there had been a lot of money and thought put into the lobby, bar and restaurant areas, the decor was great and the food and cocktails were nice. But, the Classic King room we stayed in was not up to par, especially the bathroom which was really dated with a lot of visible wear and tear (photos) The room was fine, nothing particularly wrong with it, but nothing special about it either. We had a lovely view of the River Lee from our room, but apart from that there was nothing unique or exciting about it, it was very bland and uninteresting. When I book a room in a 4 star hotel I expect to feel like I have treated myself when I arrive, but sadly I just felt very underwhelmed by it all. It didn't feel like a 4 star hotel and I don't believe it was worth the €279 we paid for the night.
