This is a lovely guesthouse on the main street in Kenmare, connected to a nice restaurant. The place was kept in great condition and it was noticeably clean. The beds were very comfy and I didn't find the noise too bad for the main street. The breakfast was excellent (above the standard). The only comment I'd have is that the parking situation isn't ideal with the nearest public park a bit of potluck and not the most organised carpark.

This was one of the best places we stayed at on our trip around Ireland. Rick Steve's hit the nail on the head. This is the place to stay in Kenmare!

Cannot rate this restaurant highly enough...we wandered in almost by accident and what a treat it was. We opted for the vegetarian options...though the fish options also looked very appealing. A lot of thought and skill went into the dishes we had. Every mouthful was delicious. Staff were friendly and music was low, mellow jazz. A must if you like good food and you're visiting beautiful Neidín.

I went to the restaurant on New Year’s Eve 2024. It was recommended by friends of my parents. The food was delicious I was surprised. It was beautifully presented. The staff and atmosphere was great. It may have been a bit loud but the what do u upset on New Year’s Eve in a full restaurant. A great local stable I hope for long. If you’re a picky eater I wouldn’t recommend it. I’m not picky but I am a pescatarian but it had plenty of fish options too, even with the medium menu. The decor is nice and simple.

We stayed above the restaurant for 2 nights and dined at the restaurant on NYE. The food is thoughtful and super delicious, the service was lovely, couldn’t have been more attentive. Altogether probably the best meal we have had in Ireland so far - the chef is clearly very talented. It was the most expensive meal of our trip through just to add so maybe save it for a treat. Rooms really clean, spacious, big comfy bed. Would recommend for sure! Thank you 🙂

We ate in the restaurant and will definitely be back! The food was delicious- very high standard and the wait staff were fantastic- so natural and friendly. Cannot recommend enough!

The Lime Tree

04/05/2025: The moment you walk down the driveway and see the fairy lights twinkling and the candlelight glowing , you know you’re in for a real treat. The atmosphere is cheerful , the staff so welcoming and friendly, the food is superb. I know there are many very good restaurants in Kenmare and sometimes it feels like there is TOO much choice. But having been to the Lime Tree I can honestly say that it’s the pick of the bunch. The atmosphere, the lovely staff , the quality and the presentation of the food are second to none. Eating here is a memorable experience. They’ve managed to tick all the boxes , and I love the fact that it’s owned and run by a family all working together as a team to make your night special. I cannot wait to go back.
10/04/2025: A family gathering-11 of us in total. Three generations at the table and our experience was amazing from the moment we entered the door. Service was exemplary, menu was excellent, quality of food was YummyLicious…loved every minute and morsel this beautiful restaurant. We’ll be back!!
