Lobster Pot in Carne

We stopped in for lunch. Live nearby but have never been in. Had mussels, chowder (wife) and pork belly (me). The chowder is loaded with seafood and could easily be a meal on its own! Roasted corn and shaved celeriac set it apart. The pork belly presentation is very haut cuisine! Chef has the flavour profile perfect with a mustard cream and apple compote complementing the richness of the pork. I have no idea what is in the gratain but it is soooo goood! I am so pleased to see this type of single chef bespoke restaurants appearing in rural Ireland, like being in France.

Can safely say and without prejudice, that this was THE best meal experience I’ve (we’ve) had in a very long time. Beautiful guns to start off the lunch. I had the chicken Caesar salad and I must say it was the best version of it I’ve ever had, the chicken was so juicy and tasty. Partner had the chowder which having tasted it, was delicious. Then we both had the pork belly. First bite, I just sat back and enjoyed it with eyes closed lol. And it had a crispy skin was lovely. Ok, not crackling per se but nonetheless, beautiful. Desserts were equally enjoyable. Shoutout to Brendan and in particular, Shannon, who were a joy with whom to interact. Amazing visit. Home now and delightfully full (of wine)!

Paul and his amazing crew front and back of house know how to present stunning food and look after their guests with premium service- only negative comment is that we don't live closer to the Lobster Pot x it was a wonderful few meals we had there this summer ! Until the next time ❤️

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ One of the best restaurant experiences we’ve had in Ireland! The food was incredibly fresh, beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious. Honestly, I haven’t eaten food this tasty and well-prepared in any other restaurant in Ireland, even in some of the places that are supposedly ranked among the top 3 or top 6 in the world. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was calm, relaxed and very welcoming. 100% recommended! If you’re in Wexford, The Lobster Pot is definitely worth visiting. 🦞

Fabulous food and service in the cosiest spot ever. Lovely beer garden for a sunny pint on a good day. The seafood tagliatelle was gorgeous. Mussels were in the most divine sauce. Warm welcome and well looked after. Highly recommend a visit 👌

Best fish and chips I ever had. Light and crispy batter, the most freshest cod fillet and best tartar sauce served in an oyster shell

Given the restaurant’s reputation for seafood, the limited choice was unexpected, with only three seafood mains available. The Monkfish curry also needed more seasoning. I’ve enjoyed this place many times, but the menu now feels more focused on meats and burgers than seafood, which seems out of step with its name and location.
