Had an absolutely scrumptious meal here last night. It started with not one, but two complimentary starters. First was dates wrapped in ham and the 2nd was salmon cream cheese with cracker dippers. The service was great and the staff really friendly and attentive. The Chef Thomas and Manager Ann were on hand to answer any questions and ensure all guests were having an enjoyable dining experience. Fabulous menu and we will definitely be back. 31/7/25 We came back and can't wait to come again! This place is excellent! Again Thomas didn't disappoint and Amy took such great care of us. The crab and mango was delicious, the quail fabulous, Chef's Special Steak and Halibut to die for! Can't wait for next visit.

We happened to pull into this restaurant without knowing about it. As soon as you walked in we were greeted not only by the staff but the chef personally came out to meet us. They were welcoming, attentive and informative. We were then treated to a couple amusement bouches. The food was spectacular. I had the risotto and I have never had anything so good. If you’re driving by you have to stop.

3 picky customers but after talking with the chief, 3 meals of sirloin steaks and veggies cooked to well done perfection and the almond desert was delicious. Planning to return to the area again and would definitely revisit.

Look no further, Thomas is a French 3 Michelin Star chef and knows his stuff. Best meal we've had in our lives. We feel so privileged to have been cooked for by a Michelin Star chef at such an affordable rate. Chef Thomas talked us through every dish and really looked after us. Couldn't be more grateful for his hospitality. Ann, the owner, is very passionate and knowledgeable. Both Ann and Chef kindly walked us around the garden and shown us the amazing hydroponics farm. Well worth a visit if you want a fine dining experience for a fraction of the price and with a much more community spirited attitude. Both Chef Thomas and Ann are on a mission to help feed and educate people and deserve much recognition for their work!

If you blink you would miss this very simplistic building. What it lacks on kerb appeal, it certainly makes up for in the menu. The concept of farming their own fruit and vegetables and using what ever is in season on the menu adds a uniqueness that comes through in the flavours of this french inspired menu. The owner Anne and her staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Chef Thomas is a master at his craft, his passion for what he does shines through in his flavours and exquisite presentation and wine pairings. If you are in Mayo and like quality dining then The Lough Inn is deffinately worth a visit.

This was unexpected experience. We just wanted to eat and stopped at the place. Quick look at the reviews and here we go. First surprise, the place was empty, just one man sitting at a table. But the waitress was very welcoming, brought us a menu. Then the chef said - no, no, no, these are not the right menus. Ok, we got new menus. Next surprise, no prices on the menu. While we were thinking, small chef's compliment appeared. Good, by the way. I'm looking at the tired pub interior, plastic decorations and traffic outside the window and it doesn't match with the fancy menu. Ok, we decided what to order. Unfortunately the other customer suggested lobster. Good, let's try. The chef took it seriously - brought us the poor creature to show us, that the produce is fresh. I'm not vegetarian, but when you see a living being that is going to be killed just for my starter... Later the chef came to us and the other man to show how to flambé lobster. Then another chef's compliment appeared - delicious mushroom soup with truffles. While my husband was eating the lobster, the chef came again to show us truffles... When I received my order, I have to admit, the monkfish was really good. My chocolate desert was also ok, however, tartlette shell was a bit moist, but chocolate roll - too sweet.

Chef was very friendly came out to speak to us tell us about the food. Staff were very polite the food was nothing short of exceptional .Iv eating in a lot of places but you honestly rarely get food like this in a rural pub or restaurant in Ireland personally it's the best meal I had out an our 18 month old son absolutely loved his mash potatoes an mushroom sauce . Will definitely be back soon.

We ate here on June 25th. We wanted to eat burgers and fish and chips. It turned out that the restaurant had been taken over a year ago. A 3-star chef is now cooking there, he came to our table to tell us what and how he cooks, very special. He wants to focus entirely on hydroponics. He gave us a starter, something with anchovies. Two of us are not fond of them and he made something different for him, plums and bacon. We had a delicious meal! After dinner the owner came to us and we got a financier and a small glass of grand cru. The financier was delicious and so was the wine! She talked to us for a long time, it was very nice.

Wow, we had a delicious meal here yesterday. Two amuse-bouche hors d’oeuvre’s on the house while we were ordering, one prune and bacon, one anchovy and cream cheese, delicious! Starters were fab, French onion soup, chicken terrine, quail. Mains were lobster, duck, steak, everything was cooked superbly. Crème brûlée for desert to top it off! Attentive staff and a chef who really cares about his creations. Highly recommended, quality food! We will be back.

Jacks Coastguard Restaurant

16/08/2025: I had seen on the website that it was a place that had seafood oysters and had won several awards from the some Irish Association. That caught our attention and we booked there to celebrate my birthday. The service was very good. The menu is far from offering seafood, local fish, and even less so oysters, given that there's a farm less than 10 minutes away by car. A huge disappointment.
08/08/2025: Location was very picturesque as it is in a quiet village, off the beaten track with views across the water. Excellent meal, served by efficient friendly staff. The atmosphere was enhanced by having a traditional Irish pub setting to the front, on passing through a small door arrive in a very modern restaurant.

O Neills of Allihies

04/08/2025: We had a snack there. It's a typical bar with a bar atmosphere. The food was okay. The menu is restaurant-like, and the prices are similar. However, the food was a bit limited. The value for money wasn't quite right. But if you need something to eat, I can recommend it.
30/07/2025: Nice food and great congenial atmosphere in this packed pub on a Sunday evening with fantastic musicians. We'll keep a fond memory of this moment which was one of the most memorable of our stay in Ireland. 🍻🎻💚
