Louie's in Kilkenny

Top class service and delicious coffee.

We stopped in Louie's Café for coffee during a brief visit to Kilkenny. The café is nicely furnished and the staff are friendly. We were served by a Croatian gentleman who was polite and welcoming. The coffee and scones were both delicious. The other two staff members, from Moldova and Spain were very friendly and all the staff were very well presented. They gave the impression of a well run premises. The toilets were spotless. The pricing was fair, and reasonable given the quality of the café. We would happily visit again, if we are in Kilkenny in the future.

Very professional and friendly welcome. Really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Great location also. Highly recommend if you're passing through Kilkenny.

Went here in late December at a last minute suggestion from my better half. Booked a table for what we thought would be a calm Sunday evening. How wrong we were!! We arrived early and we were seated at the bar for a drink. Welcome was warm and " honest" by the two impeccable French speaking waiters. Door was constantly opening and nobody was refused. If no tables available customers were escorted through a back door to rive gauche! Menu was simple but ticked all the boxes. Waiter recommended the pork ( would never normally order pork) and best I've ever eaten. Prawns, calamari, mushrooms, cod fritters.... all gobbled up with gusto. Big portions as we could not finish all that we ordered. Service was top class, casual but yet professional. Loved the room too, great ambience and vibe. We will be back as it was 10 out of 10

So cozy and excellent servers. Opened at 9am and had great coffee, pastries and a cozy booth to watch the town wake up.

Encontramos este lugar cuando se busca un lugar para el almuerzo. Parecía muy acogedor en un día húmedo. La comida es fantástica, gran café y un servicio amable. Sin duda volveremos en nuestra próxima visita a Kilkenny.

We had brunch at Louie’s yesterday and it was wonderful ! The food was very good, the place is beautiful and the staff extremely kind. We will definitely go back next time we are in Kilkenny!

Stopped in for lunch on a Friday afternoon. Had the Club sandwich with chips and my wife had the smoked salmon bagel. All the food was well presented. The chips and smoked salmon bagel were very good, but the club sandwich was only OK. Would not order it again. Menu said it had chicken and bacon on it. Found a few thin bacon slices hiding under a slice of lovely tomato. Paper thin. Literally. I had expected proper real bacon at least 1mm in thickness. The chicken breast seemed to have been boiled, not fried or cooked. It was devoid of taste and flavour. But the side salad was tasty and the chips were lovely and came salted. Staff were very good and my coffee (Americano) was good. Lovely venue and we had a great window seat to watch the world go by. Prices were reasonable for Kilkenny. They advertise Tapas on weekend evenings so maybe that would be a better selection. Seemed very popular with local ladies and wine was prominent on many tables. Perhaps wine and desert is a better option.🤷🏼
