We’ve been back 3 times in 2 days because of the fresh, delicious food and excellent, friendly service.
I want to point out Jordan and Connor as two very excellent hosts. They took great care of us.
We tried the duck spring rolls and seafood chowder and they were absolutely delicious and fresh. Jordan was our bartender and server, and he was so great, and he provided us with some guidance for finding good whiskeys (that weren’t served there). We would happily return….
And return we did! Just a few hours later we wanted another go at the fresh and delicious food here.
We had the bangers and mash and the lamb stew, and hands down the best we’ve had so far. And as a fan of Redbreast, I enjoyed the Lustau version. Just amazingly tasty all around, and great, lively, and lovely service here.
We also had the fish and chips, and it was amazing and what we were hoping to get.
Excellent restaurant, folks. Stop in and enjoy it all.

We had dinner at Madigan’s Pub after seeing it listed as one of the best spots for shepherd’s pie in Dublin, but it didn’t quite live up to that reputation. The food itself was decent, basic pub fare that was filling but not particularly memorable. The atmosphere, however, felt more suited to drinks than a sit-down meal. It’s primarily a bar, with a small back room set aside for dining, which didn’t make for the most enjoyable dinner setting.
The staff weren’t especially warm and gave the impression that table service was more of an afterthought, which made the experience feel a little flat. While it’s a perfectly fine place to stop in for a pint, we wouldn’t recommend it as a dinner destination. There are better options in Dublin if you’re looking for a meal with both great food and a welcoming atmosphere.

Perfect dinner: the lamb stew was delicious, the beer exceptional, and the aple pie was absolutely delicious. The staff were friendly and the service was quick. If you're in Dublin, I highly recommend this pub! The prices were fair. There was no live music, but there was pleasant background music.

A true Dublin pub, still in its original form. Perfect Irish coffee.

Great pints of Guinness. Good craic with customers and between the bar staff. I could tell straight away this is a happy place. Bit of a urine odour near the loos.

I had the pleasure of making Madigan's my last pub to visit before returning home. It was well worth it. The fish and chips were the best I had while in Ireland and the Guinness pour was beyond perfect. The staff were very welcoming and friendly.

Great food, great service, great atmosphere - what more could you want? We followed other Trip Advisor reviews as we were in the hotel next door - and we just couldn't walk any further. The wife's face when we walked in spoke a thousand words. Looks like the type of place where the piano stops playing and all the locals stop talking and glare at you. Don't be put off it isn't like that at all and the wife really warmed to the place. More authentic than a lot of the other 'authentic' pubs advertised in Dublin.
