Took a stop here to grab some waffles and hot chocolate after visiting hill of Tara. The place has a very cozy vibe and a lovely attentive staff.

Spent just over a month in Ireland. Drove over 3,000K. Yet sitting in this cafe for a late lunch after seeing the Hills of Tara was one of my 5 top moments of the stay.

It is a cafe and souvenir shop on the hill of Tara, and the only one in the surrounding area. The people are very friendly and you can have coffee or tea accompanied by a snack. The bathrooms are clean.

One of my favourite places to go. It's always going to be really busy given it's situated on one of our very busy tourist spots...so you may have to wait. The staff never stop all day. They work so hard to look after people. Eva without fail greets you with a smile on arrival... What a lovley kind and beautiful lady. The goats cheese salad is excellent. I never tire of visiting this little gem 🩵

Springfield Hotel

25/02/2025: I have been going to the Springfield for years and Caroline Hannon has always looked after me so well. Very good attentive service and always with a warm greeting and a smile. Some of the other staff would not be of the same quality in my experience.
06/02/2025: We arrived mid saturday afternoon for a Stayover and dying for a bit of food. We came in at the end of the carvery. No staff serving. Little options available and Menu in general did not appeal. Staff member picked up Roast potato with her hand and offered it to my wife as part of Joint meal available. I chose Lasagna which was quite tasty. The room was impeccable, comfy big bed. Spacious room .Perfect. Went to bar and service fierce slow. No Residents bar and barman dying to get away. Breakfast was a joke. Nobody interested in taking room number or offering Tea/Coffee.Again very little food in trays . This was an hour or so before it finished. Wont be going back anytime soon. Sorry Guys

Strollers Bistro

12/10/2024: Ate at Strollers this evening and we already can't wait to go back. Great service, food arrived promptly, no long waits between courses. Plate of breads and spreads, while we waited for our starters to arrive, was a lovely touch. The food was divine. Barely had room for dessert but when the dessert trolley arrived it was too hard to resist! Great atmosphere, lovely friendly guy playing piano kept us all entertained. By far the nicest place we've ate in Ballyb.
28/09/2024: Been a few years since I’ve stayed or eaten here. I was blown away by the current offering. An excellent setting that’s very comfortable with amazing food. So many extra little details outside of the food that was perfect- the welcome, the temperature, the sound and the desert trolly! Great work everyone. I look forward to my return.
