I wanted to bring attention to an unpleasant experience today 23rd Nov 24 at the Mahon Point Food Court recently, which left us very disappointed. While enjoying a meal with my family, a group of four young kids—three girls and a boy, the youngest being the boy—were causing a significant disturbance. The incident escalated when the boy threw a full packet of crisps, which landed on our table, hitting my daughter and knocking over a full glass of Coke. The drink spilled all over us and our food, ruining the experience entirely. One girl in the group made a half-hearted attempt at apologizing, but it was neither serious nor meaningful. When I calmly told the boy that such behavior wasn’t acceptable and asked him to be more careful, the eldest girl in the group, who was extremely rude and disrespectful, started repeating, “Just stay away from him,” in an aggressive, rant-like manner. She completely ignored the fact that her group was at fault and failed to address their behavior. To make matters worse, they were laughing about the incident, showing no remorse or respect. It reached the point where my husband had to step in and explain that their actions had hurt my daughter, but even then, the eldest girl continued with her inappropriate attitude. This type of behavior not only ruins the dining experience but also tarnishes the reputation of the food court. It’s unfortunate that these kids, who clearly lack proper manners and supervision, are allowed to behave in such a disruptive way. Such incidents can drive potential customers away, as families like ours might hesitate to return if this kind of behavior goes unchecked. I strongly urge the management to consider implementing stricter supervision or security measures to ensure that the food court remains a family-friendly environment. It’s important to maintain a standard where customers feel safe and respected while dining.

COCOA

03/04/2025: A hidden treasure in the city to grab a cup of coffee with a friend. Nestled in amongst the small shops at Winthrop arcade, Cocoa is a fantastic independent coffee shop to support in a Cork City.
08/01/2025: Always meant to visit this café and safe to say it will be the first and last. The café is cramped, tables outside but it's shared with another popular café and it's within a narrow hallway so it's not appealing. Café has an upcharge for dairy alternatives/plant drinks, predatory to those with dietary sensitivities. No toilet facilities on site. They claim their hot chocolates are made with 'real chocolate' but it was powdered chocolate. Gritty after taste and it was nothing special, for the price point we were expecting more. Tables were dirty, with some patrons clearing tables to get a table to sit at. Service staff were busy and were kind enough to bring out our beverages outside the shop as there isn't sufficient space to wait inside.

Preachers

10/04/2025: The place was clean and the girl behind the bar gave excellent service being able to serve everyone very fast and at the same time, she also knew how to work the customers having all at the bar chatting to her and each other as if it was a big meet up of all old friends. Great night out and would highly recommend.
