We chose this place because it is halfway between the Shannon Ferry and the Ring of Kerry. There are also the remains of a castle nearby. Even though we arrived at 2 pm, we had an Irish breakfast served, a large dish. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would describe it as an authentic Irish place, and not the usual restaurant for tourists.

Just popped in for lunch and had bacon and cabbage which was on the main menu. The food was top class. Really delicious. It was served with cabbage, carrot and parsnip and turnip, mashed potatoes and baby boiled potatoes. As always the staff were very nice and friendly and very helpful. Looking forward to returning for the fab breakfast and yummy griddle bread !

Lovely local spot in the heart of Listowel town, as with any small town service isn't super fast but the they are really friendly. The food is nice, albeit limited for vegetarians, however that hasn't stopped us coming back. There is ample seating and it is suitable for families with small babies. However there is no designated baby changing area in the bathrooms. There is a section of counter top next to the sink in the women's bathroom you can use to change your baby however if someone else is using the sink it's awkward as you leave your baby exposed to passers by while being changed, the bathroom is always cold and the surface itself is tiled so you absolutely need a changing mat with you. You also run the risk of flashback from the sink. While the front of the restaurant is wheelchair accessible I'm not sure the bathrooms would be accessible to wheelchairs as you have to go down steps to get there. Otherwise this really is a lovely spot. The food is nice. Prices are reasonable. The bathroom facilities is truly the only thing I could fault.

Allo's Bistro

06/07/2025: We have eaten here many times and have never had a bad experience. This time was no different. Had the lobster special and it was delicious. It gets booked up frequently, so it is better book a table to be safe to get to experience Allo's specials.
06/06/2025: What a find! Such a warm welcome and delicious food. Joan made room for us on a busy evening. It was a set menu for €35 but we had no trouble in choosing our options.

Fusion Cafe

21/08/2025: Been in Ireland 7 years and eaten at all the Indian restaurants in Dublin and nothing comes close to Amaya Fusion. The flavours were authentic, it honestly felt like a trip back home. Every single dish from starters to desserts was spot on. Anjali who served us was absolutely lovely. :)
29/06/2025: Amaya Fusion never disappoints! The food is consistently excellent — fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared every time. Whether it’s their curries, fusion dishes, or appetizers, everything tastes amazing. What truly sets them apart is their delivery service. The delivery guy is always on time, polite, and incredibly professional. Highly recommend Amaya Fusion if you’re looking for delicious food and top-notch service. A hidden gem! 🌟
