Main Street Kinsale in Cork

A local bar in Kinsale with Irish music. Did not eat there but went for the music and fun with our fellow travelers. It was a good evening.

This was by far the best experience we had at an Irish pub. Monday nights they sing traditional Irish songs with local people also singing. There were very upbeat, happy, and funny songs and there were somber songs sung individually by local men and women of the town. There was one beautiful song we heard sung by a local, Kinsale Irish woman with an amazing voice. We tried to search for the song online but couldn’t find any results resembling it. It’s about a young couple immigrating to Ellis Island (US) and the wife sadly gets sick and dies on the journey. She is buried at sea and the song has lyrics saying something along the lines, “someday I’ll see you again.” If anyone knows the name of the song or has the lyrics, please answer this review. I wish I had recorded it, but I felt it was impolite to take a video with my phone during a lovely performance and somber song.

The trad was one of the best I've been to! The best service as well from the two women behind the bar.
