For Indonesian and Malaysian food, i had to give this place 5 stars having been to Ipoh 's best restaurants for 2 weeks. The chefs here are Malaysians and they were helpful and accommodating though they were very busy. The food was served fast and accurate. Both dishes I ordered were super authentic and delicious. It was such a gem and I was glad that I " found" it and insisted on trying it in Cork ( because there are so many others claiming the same).

Delicious tofu black bean dish, I'm glad I came here! Thaks for doing a vegan menu 💚 Casual sit-in area facing the [bars on the] window, which makes for a good people-watching spot

If you like Asian food, you must come here to try the Singapore fried rice noodles and the eel pasta. The quick stir-fry flavor is impressive.

Probably the best restaurant we had in Ireland. Food was fire. Owner was so kind. Wish we were here longer so we could eat here again

Small hole in the wall restaurant. The food was good, but a bit sweet, and rather it have a bit more heat than sweetness. Overall was good and a nice break from the standard Irish pub food. Seating is very limited.

Tucked away in Cork City, Malay Kitchen delivers bold, authentic flavours with a warm welcome to match. The Nasi and Mee Goreng were standouts — rich in spice, cooked to order, and packed with that unmistakable wok hei. Portions were generous, and prices felt more than reasonable for the quality. Service was a real highlight: friendly, attentive, and genuinely inviting. Just a heads-up for dine-in — seating is minimal, with bar-style stools and space for only six, so it’s more of a quick bite than a long sit-down. The only slight letdown was the Mee Goreng sauce, which was a bit heavy and made the noodles softer than expected. Still, a great spot that punches well above its size, and we’ll definitely be back to explore more of the menu.

Bedrock Cafe

12/11/2025: It was such a pleasure to sit at Bedrock Café on a rainy day with a hot cappuccino and a little cookie — it truly lifted my spirits. The atmosphere is so cozy and peaceful; the tables are nicely spaced so you can just relax and enjoy the moment. There’s a lovely rustic charm to the place — the kind that warms your soul and makes you want to stay a little longer. A perfect spot for travelers or anyone who needs a quiet, comforting break. Highly recommended! 🌧☕🍪
12/11/2025: This is a great cafe for the traditional comforts. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, and the food is very wholesome. My only complaint is the limited vegetarian options. I just had a curry chip with coleslaw and a side salad, but my partner loved his roast dinner. He said it reminded him of the food he grew up with and he's looking forward to coming back.

Good for the Soul

02/11/2025: I absolutely love this place for its vegetarian sandwich. It’s super fresh and it’s not the boring falafel or egg sandwich you get everywhere else. They’ve put thought into it and the flavours.
23/10/2025: I visited Good for the Soul for lunch on a weekday. Arriving at 12.30, there were tables available so there was no waiting for a seat. This is not often the case on the weekend where the shop is full from morning until closing time. I ordered the Sweet Potato Hash. It was delicious, there was plenty of sweet potatoes, vegetarian pudding, and black beans. Be aware that Good for the Soul serves unique and modern dishes so may not suit somebody looking for a plain ham and cheese toastie or bangers and mash. The menu is available online. The quality of service was great. I appreciate the staff explaining the menu upon arrival since the top of the menu reads "Brunch" which looked confusing for a lunch time. Prices are high but typical for good quality food at a cafe in Cork City. I would recommend Good for the Soul if you are around Ballincollig at lunch time.
