Tucked away in Cork City, Malay Kitchen delivers bold, authentic flavours with a warm welcome to match. The Nasi and Mee Goreng were standouts — rich in spice, cooked to order, and packed with that unmistakable wok hei. Portions were generous, and prices felt more than reasonable for the quality. Service was a real highlight: friendly, attentive, and genuinely inviting. Just a heads-up for dine-in — seating is minimal, with bar-style stools and space for only six, so it’s more of a quick bite than a long sit-down. The only slight letdown was the Mee Goreng sauce, which was a bit heavy and made the noodles softer than expected. Still, a great spot that punches well above its size, and we’ll definitely be back to explore more of the menu.

Fantastic place to get your Asian takeaway. Haven’t had a fried rice this good in so long! Great portions, great taste, great value. Highly recommend!

My boyfriend and I ate here and just loved the food. It tasted so fresh and full of flavor. I can 100% recommend the Massaman Curry (had it with seitan) 😌😌😌

This is Asian fusion food. We tried the curry, the beef and the chicken. Everything was delicious. All the meat is Halal and the sources of chicken in cork is hand slaughtered. I will definitely come back here again.

I ordered on Deliveroo and asked to make their Kway Teow extra spicy. They absolutely nailed it. I feel like a new person again. Thank you! This is wonderful!

As someone who lived in Asia, this is the most reminiscent of true Asian flavours that you will find in Cork! The mee goreng and the crispy chilli beef are outstanding!

The Metropole Hotel Cork

12/07/2025: I went there on business and took my parents along to treat them to a small holiday. We had a lovely time at the hotel. It’s aged pretty well considering it is a historical building. The cooked food at breakfast was nice and the dinner at the restaurant very good as well, and felt unexpectedly upscale. The only thing to improve would be the shower in the room I had, to get hotter water. The staff were absolutely super great and helpful. I would certainly stay there again, especially given the nice location.
12/07/2025: The hotel's best asset is its location. Just cross the river and you're on St. Patrick's Street, the heart of the city's shopping district. Otherwise... it's very beautiful from the outside, with a very attentive reception area with very friendly staff, a lovely bar/breakfast spot overlooking the river, and little else. The hotel doesn't have its own parking, which is understandable given its location, but the deal with the nearby parking lot isn't that cheap. If I remember correctly, I paid €12 for one day. The room had a bathtub, not a shower, and it was very noisy. You could hear people on the street until 3 a.m. Not good. Breakfast was included in the morning, but it was a shame only the cold buffet was available; hot dishes were paid for separately.

Oriel Hotel

15/07/2025: My daughter and I stayed at the Talbot Hotel Cork while in Ballincollig for a funeral. Our room was spacious & immaculately clean. Comfortable beds. Quiet overnight & nice and dark, so we got a good night’s sleep. Breakfast buffet had plenty on offer and we thought price was reasonable for the quality & quantity. I would highly recommend the Talbot. It’s outside of Cork City, but a quick drive or bus ride into the heart of town. And Ballincollig has plenty in the way of restaurants/bars, some shops, and the wonderful Regional Park for walking, running, taking in lovely views alongside the River Lee.
14/07/2025: Stupendous! Went here with my husbands, had a great pint by a great barman named “Eoghan”. Service was superb and quick, even after my card declined 8 times. A great spot and a great barman, handsome too might I add.
