One of our favourite places to eat out at, but this time we were disappointed with one of the main dishes. We had the duck pate to start with, which was delicious. Our mains were two burgers with bacon and cheese and a haddock deep fried in bread crumbs with chips and peas. We had chips and salad with the burgers. The burgers were very good but the fish must have been sitting around while the burgers were being cooked, as it was greasy and chewy. It is a shame, because this is the first time that we have had a less than good meal at Mannions. We did mention it to the staff when we were paying and they did offer a discount but as my husband had eaten the fish, we paid the full price. With New Ross being so close to the sea and fish readily available it was a shame that this dish was not treated with respect. Will eat there again but maybe not have the fish.
This is a fantastic Gastro pub just outside New Ross. We use it as a treat for family occasions and for occasional business meetings. The food is superb, main menu as a stable, with regular specials keeping us coming back. Emmet and Lisa are so welcoming every time along with friendly staff. If you are looking for homely atmosphere, great food. Then this is the best in town .
It has been a few years since we were last here, but what a treat to come back.

Our daughter declared that the salmon with beurre blanc was the best she has ever had. The beef and Guinness pie came a close second. The desserts are clearly all home made and plate scrapingly good.
Cannot wait to come back next time we go to New Ross.
I am a sous chef back in the states (FL) and this is by far the best meal I have ever had! I ordered the aged ribeye and added prawns. And then the strawberry dessert! Would recommend to anyone on the area!!!!
19/08/2024: Stopped off here after a wonderful day at the Tramore Races, this establishment is set in a very lovely location, we were seated very quickly by the very helpful friendly staff, excellent selection of food and Sunday Roasts to choose from, the Cajun style chicken burger was delicious and the Sunday Roasts looked very tasty ( although without Roast Potatoes, mash potatoes instead) The young waitress who looked after us was a star with a smile and a great sense of humour, well worth a visit!
