Emmett as always was a great host. Gave us time when he needed the much sought after table and made sure we had a place to go after eating. The food was so delicious and the seating and decor lovely. Such an enjoyable evening. Can't wait to go back.
One of our favourite places to eat out at, but this time we were disappointed with one of the main dishes. We had the duck pate to start with, which was delicious. Our mains were two burgers with bacon and cheese and a haddock deep fried in bread crumbs with chips and peas. We had chips and salad with the burgers. The burgers were very good but the fish must have been sitting around while the burgers were being cooked, as it was greasy and chewy. It is a shame, because this is the first time that we have had a less than good meal at Mannions. We did mention it to the staff when we were paying and they did offer a discount but as my husband had eaten the fish, we paid the full price. With New Ross being so close to the sea and fish readily available it was a shame that this dish was not treated with respect. Will eat there again but maybe not have the fish.
19/08/2024: Stopped off here after a wonderful day at the Tramore Races, this establishment is set in a very lovely location, we were seated very quickly by the very helpful friendly staff, excellent selection of food and Sunday Roasts to choose from, the Cajun style chicken burger was delicious and the Sunday Roasts looked very tasty ( although without Roast Potatoes, mash potatoes instead) The young waitress who looked after us was a star with a smile and a great sense of humour, well worth a visit!
