Marinas Grill in Galway

Our stay at the Galmont was a highlight of our stay in Ireland. We stayed in Galway for four nights and took day trips from here. The hotel provided parking, it was also only 2-4 minutes walk from the train station. We got breakfast every morning, which was free for kids and 15 euro for adults if you book the night before or in advance. They have a really nice pool and hot tubs mostly indoors. These were mostly geared toward adults, but the pool did have spaces kids could use as well. We really enjoyed the breakfast each morning, they had a full spread with lots of options. The rooms and beds were very comfortable and the service was amazing if you had any issues (I didn't, but someone in my party had an issue with noise sealing on their window and the service team had someone come up and fix it immediately). We would definitely come back to Galmont on our next trip, this was just a great experience.

Very comfortable beds! Clean and bright. Breakfast was fantastic with many options at the buffet for all dietary needs and likes! Amazing location, close to Galway city. Highly recommend!

Nice hotel. Didn't get to try out the spa part. Breakfast was sufficient. Spacious and good up keep. Next to the coach station, and a bit of a walk into the town centre.

Staff was nice and lounge was nice. The suitcases dont roll on the carpet, they scrunch it. You have to drag them. The rooms we stayed in required 2 separate elevators with long corridors in-between. These minor issues would have been okay if we weren't dragging 8 days of clothes between us.

We had a room on 5th floor with a balcony overlooking the water. View is nice but not spectacular. Hotel is close to the road but not that noisy. Our main complaint is at 6.30am each morning an annoying mechanical sound started which continued for most of the day. Thankfully by the time we were going to bed each night it had stopped. Not sure if it was machinery on the roof or something for the room's hot water but it did not encourage you to spend time in the room. It was worse near your pillow! Anyway breakfast was good and staff were very nice.

Let’s start with the good: Easy parking in the garage. 14€ a night, but tiny spots. Also easy to drive to (for those less comfortable with Irish roads) Close enough to town. You can walk to all the key spots in <20 min. Front desk staff were friendly, decent breakfast (at 15€) Beds were comfortable enough. That being said, we did not enjoy our stay. First off, our whole wing of the hotel smelled musty/mildewy. The elevator in the East wing was especially bad. Even though there was a balcony outside our window, we couldn’t access it (which was frustrating as we would have opened the door to air out the smell in the room). 20 minutes after arriving. A staff member walked right into our (closed) room! I suspect she thought it was vacant, but still. Then 24 hours later a staff member knocked (despite the do not disturb sign). I think they were also going to walk into the room, but at least they knocked this time and said wrong room as soon as we opened the door. The AC in these units also turn off on a timer. Normally we would avoid Ac, but the room was much warmer than outside and the window only opened 2 inches. So we would turn on the AC at night and it would go off in the early morning, then we’d wake up hot and have to turn it on again. Lastly there was a loud recurring noise from the bathroom (maybe related to flushes in the part of the hotel?) We were able to sleep through it, but others may not be able to. It would go off for 2-3 seconds every minute or so.
