Mario's Diner in Kilkenny

This place deserves to be 5 stars! Went recently to the sit down side with my wife. Previously had the takeaway and always found the chips high quality. They recently have renovated the interior and can see they spent a lot on it! It’s clean, modern and has a great atmosphere. Staff are super friendly and food was served promptly and hot. Our meal was reasonably priced, well portioned and fresh quality ingredients. The only negative I can think of is that the food needed more seasoning. Anyone used of highly salted takeaways might think the food is on the bland side - be prepared to add your own salt! Overall I was very happy and would recommend. Bonus points for having a Guinness tap

Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff. Very clean. Ordered a Chicken King meal. Was good. Chips could be a little hotter and chispy chicken was more soggy than crispy. Way better than last time I was here.

*Edit* I called back recently. I retract my last comment about too much sauce on tne burger. My friend got the Quarter Pounder with Cheese meal. He announced it was the best takeaway burger he ever had. I had the buttermilk Chicken Burger. Absolutely outstanding!! - Original Review - Great spot. Staff are very accommodating and welcoming. Food is very good . Chips are fresh and crispy, The quarter pounder with cheese has a bit too much ketchup and mayo, it overpowered the taste of the burger. But very good. Service very fast, and food is good value.

Delicious food and a very pleasant place. The food arrived within minutes and it was clear that everything was freshly made. The bacon cheeseburger was amazing. Everything is highly recommended, and the staff was very friendly.

We had dinner at Mario’s Diner in Kilkenny on Saturday night and the place was really busy, which is always a good sign. Even though it was packed, the staff were friendly and found us a table pretty quickly. I went for the smash burger and it was honestly one of the best I’ve had — juicy, flavorful and perfectly cooked. My partner loved the food too. The diner has a cool American 50’s look, fun music, and a nice atmosphere overall. Prices are fair, portions are big, and the service was fast considering how busy it was. We’ll definitely come back again!

Double cheeseburger means two burger patties not two half burger patties. It's half the size of a mcds plain burger. Disappointing absolutely disappointing. Not VFM at all.
