Nice spot to have some of the seafood for which Dublin is famous. Ordered an open-faced sandwich of prawns and salmon on dense dark bread--very nice; came with a side salad. This is definitely a spendy spot; oysters are twice the price at which I normally find them in the PNW. It's housed in a beautiful old building, but this of course means that there is no climate control -- you'll be as humid inside as you are outside. Otherwise, a nice spot for quality food.

Matt The Thrasher was recommended to use by several reliable friends. We made a resv for 6:30 on a Friday, so early-ish and the restaurant was nearly empty. The service was ok, somewhat perfunctory and not at all warm - we felt we were an annoyance. Food was unremarkable though the portions were sensible. Few to no distinct or welcoming touches. The experience was underwhelming and bland, the price far exceeded the value. I have the sense the place is past its prime.

We really enjoyed the food at Matt The Thresher! There are more bottles of Jamason than the US will see for the foreseeable future! The bar is beautiful with great wine selections. We enjoyed muscles, linguini, and fish entrees. For a private party of 4 to 8, try eating in the library. Try Matt The Thresher, you will not be disappointed!

Volví a llamar a Matts y nunca decepciona.

A stunning seafood restaurant slightly further out of the centre. I really struggled to find a good restaurant in the centre of the city. This one I seen recommended over Instagram. I love a seafood restaurant so it was the perfect restaurant to celebrate a birthday on holiday. We really enjoyed my meal however found it was pretty pricey for what was offered. We compared it to the likes of Cadiz or Dulce in Edinburgh however you didn’t get the extra service which you’re paying for in these places. The food was tasty however.

Foley's Bar

19/07/2025: Service was a 10/10. I cried because of a heartbreak and the waiter realised within seconds and tried to comfort me and gave me a cold water. Also the beer and the live music was pretty good. Thank you

Beggar's Bush

06/07/2025: Very cool and old Dublin atmosphere, lots of locals, great outdoor area
03/07/2025: Unreal! Went here before a concert in the Aviva, they match the vibes of the artist in question & nice outside area - big & the staff are always around clearing empty glasses /ashtrays etc. will be back
