We went to try their recommended fish and chips and it was a real success, the restaurant was very busy. It was worth the wait, the food was really good, I loved the crunchiness of the batter. The potatoes were stale but the fish was truly delicious. The fish soup was very tasty.

The oysters are amazing. Really delicious and fresh. I recommend them! The fried cod was ok. The batter tasted a bit bland, like an unsalted pretzel. You really should get a sauce together with it to give it more flavour. Additionally, at this establishment, you need to go inside to order and to get your food. The oysters they brought to us at the table, while for the fried fish, we had to get it from inside. But they gave the fish to us immediately, so no waiting.

Disfrutó de pescado y patatas fritas y una generosa porción de scampi y patatas fritas. Es un lugar de comida rápida que pides en el mostrador y te sientas. No es un buen ambiente. While in Galway, my husband I stopped here for dinner. My husband was not feeling well, so I was the only one who ate. I had the fish and chips. You have a few different options of fish to choose from. I chose the cod. Tartar sauce costs extra. It tasted okay. It was very filling.

30/03/2025: Visited Martines for food and drinks last weekend and was thoroughly impressed. The sirloin steak prepared by our Italian chef was cooked medium rare to perfection pared with the chunky fries accompanied with the Béarnaise sauce made for a wonderful meal.
10/03/2025: Had a great meal at this Irish restaurant in the heart of Galway. The ribeye steak was cooked perfectly—tender and full of flavor. You can really tell they use good-quality ingredients. The service was excellent, super friendly and efficient, even though the place was busy. It’s in a great central location, right in the middle of the city, so it’s always lively. For being in such a prime spot, the prices are really fair, which was a nice surprise. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Galway and looking for good Irish food!
