Fantastic experience at McDonough’s in the heart of the Latin Quarter. The service was impressively quick and genuinely friendly, which made the visit all the more enjoyable. We tried the shrimp, cod, and chicken, all were incredibly fresh and perfectly cooked. Portions were generous and the prices very reasonable, especially given the quality and central location. Highly recommended for a casual meal in Galway!

Very oily, tasteless food. Scampi tasted weird, definitely not fresh. Had to ask someone to clean the table and she had an attitude, too busy on her phone. Overall basic.

Lived up to the hype! Excellent fish and chips. Not oily or greasy tasting batter like in the states You order first at the counter then grab a seat - mix of tables, bar seats, and some outdoor picnic tables in the front.

We had lunch at McDonagh's and were really impressed! We tried the fish pie and the fried scampi – both were delicious, made with fresh and well-cooked ingredients.
Many people say the dishes are not salty enough, but we actually saw that as a plus: you can season them to your own taste and really enjoy the true flavour of the fish, without it being overwhelmed.
Fast service, simple but welcoming place. Definitely a recommended stop if you're visiting Galway!

Very busy when we arrived. But service was fast. We got cod and chips. Good food but small portion. Could do with a better system at check out.

I ordered cod and mackerel... This place is better than the best fish and chips place in Dublin, especially the mackerel... It's so delicious. The onion fries are really delicious, so I recommend it. The fish soup is the best. It's just real.

Great stop for our trip to Galway. Fish was the best we'd had on our trip to London, Scotland, and Ireland. And the oysters were AMAZING! Hopefully, we will make it back someday.

Mcdonagh’s is a casual fish and chips restaurant and it has a great value for money. It seemed like a most popular place in Galway, so I had to wait for a long line to order a food. It was worth it and the cod with chips were great. But the place was so busy that some staffs missed our additional orders.
