McGettigan's in Limerick

Positives - nice decor, really friendly staff, super quick service Negatives - menu descriptions of the food, but I may just have chosen badly as the chicken schnitzel which came out on another table looked amazing, and was as described on the menu. I opted for the slow braised beef and Guinness stew, which from the menu looked like it was served with roasted root veg, champ, and a red wine jus. I asked for the jus separate as seemed an odd thing to have in addition to a Guinness stew but was told it was already in the stew. As it turns out, the roasted root veg actually referred to the carrot and celery also already in the stew. The stew itself was very tomato based, which just wasn’t what I had expected - not terrible at all, but also not a traditional Guinness stew. The champ was amazing however!

Loved this pub. The Food was top notch

Positive experience. The staff war super nice, manly the lady manager, really welcoming. The only thing is that the teapot 🫖 had a leak so it poured some water on the table. For the rest good vibe and style.
