McMahon's of Botanic Avenue in Dublin

Yesterday we decided to have a drink at McMahons, because the atmosphere seemed nice and the pastries on display looked great! Unfortunately while entering to order (4 warm drinks & 2 pastries- the snickers cake was great & the lattes too!), I witnessed the two ladies behind the counter have an unpleasant attitude towards my sister in law, who was asking for a cup of hot water so she could warm her newborns bottle. I’m unsure if their reluctance came because they didn’t think she was a paying guest, but the attitude didn’t change after I made clear I’d pay for our drinks (while holding said newborn). They charged for a cup of hot water, which we quite frankly found ridiculous since we spent over €20 on other things. If this falls under kid-friendliness, I’d say it faltered.

If you happen to come here, try their terrace . It’s so nice and warm . Staff is polite and nice coffee 😇

Perfect place where have a lunch, tasting good hot and cold sandwich. My favorites are the pullpork and the Pastrami! Compliment

I absolutely love this place! Their cold brew is delicious 😋 the garden out the back is so nice to sit in and enjoy! The food is pre made in a fridge but there are lots of options! I would definitely recommend giving here a visit 😍

Nice cafe for lunch after visiting National Botanic Gardens. Good coffee and sandwiches. Nice rear outdoor eating area/garden.

Amazing food and desserts, plenty options of sandwiches and salads, hot soup, the BEST pulled pork sandwich ever. Friendly staff and lovely looking place. Highly recommended

Lovely cafe. Nice relaxing and comfortable seating. Either out the front on the street or in their nice courtyard at the rear. Coffee is good and the freshly baked in house cakes are beautiful. Highly recommend stopping off after a stroll in the botanic gardens across the street.
