Best Night of sleep I've had in weeks. Beds are so comfortable. Best shower I've had in weeks. And such nice service all around. Everyone is so friendly. Definitely recommend.

Such an amazing staff, hotel, and location! Everyone was so kind and the location couldn’t have been more perfect. Definitely our favorite place we’ve stayed during our country tour. Highly recommend!!!

We had an amazing experience and night in McSweeney Arms Hotel, I really say that have been one of the most better hotels that I stayed. I would like to say as well to the both receptionist that attended us, they are amazing and lovely persons.

We were only there for one night but it was totally enjoyable. The staff, the rooms and the service were all great. They had a terrific breakfast! Could not have asked for anything more. The location was great too! Thanks!

Excellent family run hotel right in the centre of town. Rooms can be noisy when there are events in town but the service is excellent, breakfast is fantastic. There is an elevator and attached bar with a tempting menu. Food quality is good. Local pay car parks are available. I found no difficulty parking even during busy periods

Excellent hotel,we stayed over the weekend and will definitely be back. Room was lovely and clean ,breakfast was lovely with great choices. Staff very helpful and friendly. Location is excellent.

Monk's Lounge

14/05/2026: We went here just for one cocktail after dinner at the Yew Tree and found a relaxed atmosphere with a piano player and fireplace in the main room and besides a smaller, more pub-like room with a TV on a Sports program, so one can choose according to the mood. Great waiter and good cocktails, bit expensive of course but fine for once on a special occassion.
24/04/2026: Nice restaurant, but pricey, and I didn't feel at ease, and that was due to the service. I wouldn't recommend it. My husband's food was fine; I received the wrong thing, and in my opinion, that was because the husband completely misunderstood me. However, the staff made me feel like it was my fault. I decided to eat it because of that, but felt very uncomfortable.

The Shire, menu

25/01/2026: Aw to be honest it actually looks fab from the outside. But when we arrived on a rainy day apart from us 1 person was there .now I'm sure this place us busy during high season. Lovely staff but over all food no sorry I won't be back .maybe during the summer.
06/01/2026: What a beautiful little resteraunt ,the staff were very efficient and helpful . The food was fantastic
