Melly Cafe in Killybegs

Delicious scampi and freshly served chips!

Service was good, fish was lovely and fresh but chips frozen chips a big letdown also no mushy peas usually served with fish and chips Could be better if freshly cut chips were served and ladies toilet door lock broken too

Landing in killybegs gave us the urge for a good traditional fish and chips, what a better place to get it. Spotted Mellys when looping the new square and thought this would be the spot. Unfortunately they were out of Cod so had to resort to Haddock, a bit of a disappointment to start with but so be it. The Haddock is served with a slice of lemon and sour cream , no mushy peas . The chips , home cut were average and indeed small enough portion. Next time in Killybegs sadly will be checking other options as it didn't do the wow factor, the young staff though were a credit to the place, pleasant and efficient.

Fish ’n chips - pure magic. Coleslaw burger - excellent. This place might look as a ordinary cafe but keeps a true treasure in the kitchen waiting for you. Fresh fish from this wonderful village, catch of the day to very reasonable prices.
