Mezza Pizza in Portlaoise

01/04/2025: Have been here before and enjoyed it but last Saturday was very different. The food was grand, but the atmosphere was horrible. I realise that it was extremely busy but every staff member had such a sore face on them. Sorry, one exception, there was a young lady who was helpful . A machine was not taking payments, and you had to go to the counter to pay, but you were left standing there, and the longer you were standing , the longer it took for your order to register. Customers were complaining to each other but said nothing because it wasn't worth the hassle. I said nothing as I don't upset people who prepare my food. It was a really horrible atmosphere and service. I got the impression that no one of the staff wanted to be there. I'm sure there are people who would want a job there and enjoy it. If staff don't want to be there, please don't turn up. We all work jobs that are at times challenging. I will think twice about spending my hard earned money there. The staff obviously don't want the customers there. They made that so clear.
