Charter Bar in Portlaoise

Hi had the roast beer on day 1 when I arrived which was really good and a large portion. The second day I had a chicken burger which had a curry based breadcrumb. It was quite dry.

Great food, extra big portions.

Our meal and service was fabulous, Nicole was very attentive and offered lovely suggestions. We had a wonderful evening.

Natasha was an amazing mixologist who gave us a great cocktail making session. Thanks a million Natasha.

A mid week break Tuesday through Friday. Met a wonderful member of staff (Caoimhe) who brought her wonderful attitude to our having a drink in your Bar. So friendly, so nice to my Wife, my Daughter, my Son-in-law and both of our Grandsons. Thanks Caoimhe.

I had the pleasure of staying in the Midlands hotel portlaise on Wednesday the 25th of March. We had a three course meal and a couple of drinks on the night in the bar which was absolutely gorgeous and the service was first class and so quick. The young lady who looked after us was (Nicole). What can i say about her, she was absolutely fantastic, she made us feel very welcome and comfortable straight away and showed so much mature and confidence for such a young lady. Her manner and personality was second to none and that is the reason why I am writing this review. I just hope the manager of the hotel sees this review and gives (Nicole) and all the staff from the front desk to the people cleaning the rooms the recognition the truely deserve, a great team and a lovely hotel. I have know problem recommending this hotel to my friends and the general public who will not be disappointed, and I certainly will be staying there again in the near future.

Pros: Food was lovely Facilities were good. Staff were polite Cons: Waiting time was unacceptable for everything 1) we had to personally find a manager to get seated for our reservation 2) menus toon more then half an hour to arrive 3) food took about an hour after that 4) staff made no attempt to keep an eye on drinks or ask if we wanted more. Meaning we had to go to the bar. Which was extrememly busy

Hi so just checked in and headed to the bar for some food and drink 10 in our group. Have to say I never felt so welcome by the bar man. Litrilly watched him serving 3-4 people at a time effortlessly. Think he said his name was Austin. Also want to mention Natasha who was so lovely. They should be treasured.
