It was really beautiful and also the gardens are incredible. It's not really far either so if you're visiting the west of Ireland you have to visit.

Such serene road trip to visit Kylemore abby and gardens. One we arrived, the staff made us feel welcomed and the visit to abbey was calming and quiet. There is no rushing, there is no hurry. We have a adult son on the spectrum and this was a soothing experience for him and all of us.

Beautiful setting, excellent period garden reconstruction. Quality of exhibits inside the Abbey was underwhelming: little substantive info provided, needed more details about the family, visitors, more period furniture, people available in rooms to provide background and answer questions.

Hamiltons

21/08/2025: We ate at Hamiltons today with three generations of the family. It was the best experience we have had out west after many years. They made room for us, service was super, food was fabulous and Maura even went chasing us down the street when we forgot our bag! I had a daily special, the seafood platter, which was super. The kids chicken and fish were made fresh and gobbled up by our kids. Couldn’t recommend it more.
19/08/2025: Even though it's was very busy the day we went, the staff were very helpful and got us a table quickly. The food was delicious and the Guinness was amazing!!!
