Miyazaki in Cork

I've never had a bad meal from here in all the years I've been ordering from here

We started with a fish onigiri (around €4). My only disappointment: it was too salty and I couldn't really taste the fish. Then I had the Tori Tatsuta Don (€17.50), crispy fried chicken tossed in nanban sauce. I asked to remove the onions, and the waitress asked if I wanted to remove anything else and keep the chives. Very attentive. The dish was excellent, I just would have liked a little less sauce. We also had the beef dish (€16.50), thinly sliced beef simmered with ginger in a traditional sauce. Very good too, with whole noodles. Generous portions. Open kitchen, very authentic. Very few seats inside (5 or 6, like at the bar). No need to book, but seating is limited. They have a pub one minute away where you can sit and they bring your food over. Worth knowing if you're in a group. Normal noise level, no background music, easy to talk. Really good service, special mention to the waitress on the evening of 14 August. Clear and respectful opening hours: closed on Mondays, open Tuesday to Sunday from 1pm to 3.30pm (last order at 3.15pm), then 5pm to 8.45pm (last order at 8.30pm). It's rare and truly appreciated when a place clearly displays its last order times — no bad surprises. In the city centre, near the cathedral and the end of South Main Street, close to Barrack Street. Small place with no toilets, better to go to the partner pub. Highly recommended, I give it 5 stars.

I love this spot! My favorite place to visit whenever I am in Cork and want to treat myself. I will get almost everything on the menu man can't stop myself especially tori tatsuta don, chicken gyoza, miso soup are my must-have. I tried Tuna and Salmon Onigiri on my last visit and those are some chunky yolks, I needed to take a bite 3 times you imagine the rest. Tuna was better though. Definitely worth to drop by..!

I visited after hearing that the chef was Japanese. The food was fantastic! The staff were also very kind and helpful, and I had a wonderful time. I highly recommend it! ❤️

Lovely staff and food. Ordered the chicken katsu and a broth. It would be nice if there was vegetables in both dishes just to give the sauce an extra texture . Small restaurant and eating in is very uncomfortable because of the benches.

Miyazaki is a great spot for Japanese food, especially if you’re looking for a takeaway. The food is consistently fresh, full of flavour, and clearly prepared with care. The only downsides are the limited seating and the prices, which feel a little high for what you get. That said, the quality of the food keeps us coming back. Overall, a very good place and definitely worth trying if you’re in the area.

The staff are incredibly welcoming, their advice is excellent, and the food is absolutely delicious! In short, you can go there without hesitation!
