A fantastic experience from start to finish! Wonderful food, and excellent staff. It achieves something I rarely find these days, which is the ability to be in a very popular establishment which hosts a large variety of groups/ guests simultaneously but you feel as though you have your own space to enjoy your gathering privately - it was cosy, beautifully decorated for the festive season, and the staff were most obliging in arranging a little birthday surprise and song too - if you haven't been you should go! You won't be disappointed.
Fantastic restaurant! Delicious food, friendly service, atmospheric decor, and great music (if it's not your taste, you'll probably find it a bit loud). I'd love to go back.

We were introduced to this restaurant by friends who live locally. Friendly & efficient staff in beautiful rustic surroundings. The food is only superb. Varied menu to suit everyone. Large portions...but it was the awesome flavours that astounded me. Choice of Carafes of wine at affordable prices...

Was in Monks Lane last weekend for a friend’s birthday and it was a standout from first greeting to last sip. The front-of-house team were on it—warm, unflustered, and perfectly paced. The food was absolutely fantastic, both comforting and polished with well-judged seasoning. Hard to decide on what to have when everything sounds so good.
It has a rare buzz, cosy yet lively, both inside and out. It all felt genuinely celebratory without any fuss. A class act and an easy recommendation.
