I give 4 stars for the staff who are very kind and try to serve you from the door.. the ice cream is nothing special, I don't understand why they say it's incredible.. anyone who has eaten gelato and knows, will distinguish... always our opinion of course...

Was visiting Galway and needed an ice cream fix. Stumbled upon Murphy's and so happy I did! The staff is just so friendly and offered samples if you weren't sure. I loved the variety of flavors and how unique they were. Exceptional service and delicious ice cream! Will go again next time I'm visiting!

Very nice and creamy ice cream, and super friendly servers. The butterscotch ice cream was very tasty and I loved the brown bread ice cream, I thought it was brilliant 😍

I never imagined that I could taste one of the best ice creams of my life in Ireland, of all places! They have a lot of unique flavors that you can only find here. If I had stayed longer in this city, I would have tried all their flavors. The staff were very friendly and nice. I visited during a heatwave, so it was like an oasis in the desert for me, cooling me down in the hot weather with perfect ice cream.

Delicious ice cream, you can try a little before making a decision. Interestingly, there's ice cream with a bit of Irish bread—it tasted interesting! There's usually a line to get in, but it's worth the wait.

5 stars simply for the incredibly kind and friendly service we received, they were open late and one of the staff members was talking to each person in line and getting them samples, then the blonde girl at the counter was so kind to us, it really made the experience so special and made our entire night. Thank you to those kind souls ♥️

26/05/2026: We have been at this lovely cafe in Salthill quite a few times already and we always had a really good time. The food is superb and always leaves you wanting more.
20/05/2026: I came in this morning and there was a young lad serving, I was still half asleep, he greeted me with smile, helped me to order my breakfast, very pleasant manner. The food was delicious too, what a great start to my day! Thank you.

Barr an Chaladh

14/07/2026: Very nice pub. Lovely decorated. Very friendly staff. Cash only.
26/06/2026: If you're looking for a true Irish pub experience in Galway—the authentic, no-frills kind, where the music kicks and the energy is contagious—Barr An Chaladh is an absolute must. Located in Woodquay, just a few minutes' walk from the bustling Shop Street, this pub is a gem frequented by both locals and in-the-know travelers, perfect for escaping the more commercial tourist traps. 🎻 Barr An Chaladh: Where Traditional Music Comes Alive The name itself, which means "the top of the pier" in Gaelic, evokes Galway's maritime past. Upon entering, the atmosphere immediately envelops you: soft lighting, dark wood interiors, historical relics on the walls, and that welcoming buzz typical of old-fashioned pubs. It's not a huge venue, and that's precisely its beauty: the intimacy creates a unique connection between people. 🎵 The Beating Heart: Live Music Barr An Chaladh's real strength is its musical programming. It offers live music seven nights a week, ranging from traditional Irish music (Trad Sessions) to folk to more contemporary ballads. The Energy: Here, musicians don't just play idly in a corner; there's an overwhelming energy that often prompts the entire pub to sing along at the top of their lungs and dance just inches from the bar. 🍺 The Bar and Service Guinness is treated with the utmost respect here: it's expertly poured, creamy, and at the perfect temperature (a plus for the prices, which are generally more reasonable than those in the super-touristy Latin Quarter). The staff behind the bar is incredibly efficient, fast, and has a typically warm Irish sense of humor, even when the place is packed. Barr An Chaladh embodies the Irish concept of "Craic" (fun, good company, and great music). It's a pub with a huge soul, where it's impossible to feel lonely or bored. If you want to experience an unforgettable night in Galway, grab a pint, find a spot near the musicians, and let the rhythm carry you away. Unmissable.
