Excellent food matched with peerless service. High quality wine list and cocktails were phenomenal.

Absolutely excellent food. The flavours, the quality all in keeping with its well deserved reputation. You must book certainly for dinner and even for lunch too... Cakes are particularly outstanding. Lovely staff warm and welcoming.

Good restaurant, they don't have a huge menu but the food is good. For main courses, they have two meat options (beef and pork), two fish dishes, and one other dish that was a bit unusual we hadn't seen before. It's a bit pricey, but the quality is good; we really enjoyed the fish and the meat. We'll have to come back to try the desserts!

We went here for dinner and enjoyed the food. Wasn’t amazing but good nonetheless. Like other reviews have mentioned service was odd. Around the time we were ordering dessert/waiting for check, it felt like we had been forgotten about. Staff were kind but not super attentive or warm. Would recommend for locally sourced ingredients but for its price point/service I’d heed warning.

Steak cut was not tender by any means, lacked flavor and was mainly fatty. For the price point I was very disappointed with the main course. Sides were tasty and dessert was tasty. The staff were nice but were very slow at checking up on us. At moments it seemed like they had forgot about us. Wouldn’t return here.

Traveling on a food and culture tour, this is a must stop as Chef Jess brings both excellent food and a keen awareness of the culture and food of the region. We had shared appetizers and my partner had the John Dory and I had the pork chop, I finished with a deconstructed rhubarb and strawberry cheesecake. Food was exceptional and the service was amazing. Chef Jess stopped by and chatted and this was an extra bonus. A must stop when near Galway.

The best seafood I had in Ireland. The seafood tower is a must try and great for a special occasion.

A just OK experience. Food was good, mains very tasty. Service poor and strange. Discouraged by waitress from ordering two portions of bread for four people, and from ordering extra potatoes. When asked for suggestions it didn’t seem that the waitress knew the menu or what the dishes involved. When asked for the bill by myself (female) the bill was handed to the only male sitting at the table. The service would put me off returning. Ambiance itself is lovely.

Quaint little restaurant on the edge of Galway town and within walking distance of the centre. Booking a must but you might get lucky with a drop in

Renzo

05/05/2026: Really nice place for a sandwich. Not too busy and loud. Bathroom is really clean. They only had a few sandwiches left we could choose from. They toasted them up quickly and it tasted good. The chocolate milk was too milky and it wasn't that much. Less than half the cup was filled up.

An Pucan

07/05/2026: Excellent! Live music throughout, delicious homemade food, reasonable prices. Great atmosphere. Don't miss it.
06/05/2026: Step inside this Galway pub and you’re immediately wrapped in that low-lit, amber-glow atmosphere where time loosens its grip and the evening writes its own story. There’s a hum in the air, part laughter, part clinking glasses, part the faint tuning of instruments in the corner. Let’s start with the beer, because it deserves top billing. Fresh on tap, perfectly poured, and rotating enough to keep things interesting, the selection feels both generous and carefully chosen. Whether you’re settling into a creamy stout or something lighter and crisp, every pint arrives like it knows it has a reputation to uphold. The food might surprise you if you came expecting “just pub grub.” The menu is full-bodied and thoughtful, with dishes that go well beyond the usual. Locally sourced ingredients make another appearance here, elevating classics and giving everything a fresh, satisfying edge. It’s the kind of menu that convinces you to stay for “just one more bite”… which somehow turns into dessert. And then there’s the music. Live, lively, and never overpowering, it threads through the room like a second conversation. Some nights it’s traditional Irish tunes that make your foot tap without asking permission; other nights it leans modern, but always with heart. Either way, it pulls the whole place together into something that feels shared. The staff keep the rhythm steady, friendly, quick with a recommendation, and always ready with a bit of Galway charm. You’re not just served here, you’re looked after. It’s not just a pub, it’s a full evening in one place: great beer, great food, and music that lingers in your head long after you’ve stepped back out into the night air.
