My Melody Bistro in Athlone

We popped in here for a small bite to eat after visiting Sean's bar. The place looks like a small cafe on the outside but is very homely inside. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We opted for two caesar salad with no chicken and one chowder. The salads were top class and very tasty the chowder was creamy with a super flavour. While in there we had a look at the evening a la carte menu, it looks comprehensive. An ideal evening would be a visit to Sean's bar with some food in the River View bistro and back into Sean's bar again. Highly recommended. Yes we will be back.

Visiting next door Sean’s Bar, and wanted a decent dinner. Wasn’t expecting much, but the place is clean, the service is good, and the food is outstanding.

This place has new owners/new name called River View Bistro. Fabulous food and great customer service. The chicken curry was delicious and the fish and chips were fantastic.

You got to have the chicken curry. The food was great and the people lovely. Fish and chips was excellent too.

The tandoori chicken focaccia was delicious and the service and atmosphere was very warm and friendly ☺️

Popped in here after being at a match in the town and enjoyed a thoroughly nice afternoon dinner. I've eaten here before but I'm not from the area so it's been a long time. I remember it was nice the last time, good to see nothing's changed in that respect. It has a good varied nenu of soups, sandwiches, salads, burgers, pastas and the like. I had the fish and chips and it was delicious. Really generous portion size, good prompt service, clean and friendly. Ticks all the boxes. Right across from Athlone Castle too if you're visiting.
