Busy little bistro, amazing location, close to river Shannon and Athlone castle. Sean's pub is next door. Good spot for brunch or lunch. Tables felt little bit too close to each other. Service was Ok, slower. Meals were good, tasty. There was only one problem and that was the state of the toilets. Dusty and dirty.

Went to River View Bistro in Athlone for lunch today — our second time here, and it was just as good as the first! 😍 We ordered the veg pasta and veg focaccia, and honestly, who says vegetarian food isn’t good? Give it a try and you’ll know! The garlic bread was so soft and buttery, and pairing it with the pasta was just chef’s kiss 👌✨

Great food and service! It was quick and delicious. Place was empty when we walked in so we were a bit nervous but by the time we walked out it was poppin.

17/05/2025: Fabulous food superb breakfast excellent around. Although it was getting busy there's a young east European girl on the till who does a fantastic job of serving customers without getting overwhelmed, especially by the rude man in front of me who was acting as a passive aggressive person towards her. She just got on with it, and took no notice of him Recommend a visit
15/03/2025: We popped in for a bit of lunch, during a rainy day visit to Clifden. The bakery was warm and welcoming , with a huge array of sweet and savoury treats to choose from. We enjoyed a tasty steak and kidney pie. Definitely recommend.

03/11/2025: The girl who took the order was very polite, attentive, tactful, and patient. The order was processed quickly, but it felt like it was being done by an apprentice. It was disappointing. We won't be ordering anything from here next time we're in Athlone.
