Oar House in Dublin

I hadn't been there for quite sometime, there is a good vibe about the place and it is well run by a competant team who work very hard, also it was clean, no dirty tables or mess and we weren't waiting long for a table to be available. The food was tasty, but to be fair not spectacular, though well presented. The highlight was the Calamari, not overly cooked with crisp Tempura type batter and my Lobster Ravioli was good, though it lacked seasoning, some what. The seafood platter was good value, I would recommend this for a group, as the portion was very generous. The Tiramasu was quite good, the sponge being light and airy in texture, but too much cream and not enough cocoa. I prefer a slightly bitter chocolate to contrast with the sweetness of the layers.

The Buffalo sauce here is probably the best I have had in the world. Very good food, huge portions.

Have been here multiple times now and this restaurant is a great reliable when visiting howth, went today on a very busy Saturday and they were accepting lots of walk ins, food was high quality and team were all very attentive. Would recommend the fish and chips and oysters!!

Excellent oysters, quite large portions. I recommend the Irish coffee at the end, it is really made with love. Very good place!
