Lovely place that will appeal to locals and tourists alike. Quintessentially Irish but in an authentic way rather than a naff one.

Very nice pints and good atmosphere

Incredible pub, great beer stout, lager and craft beer selection. One of best bar men in the country, and undoubtedly in Galway, in a gentleman by the name of Paul, always a friendly face with an incredible knowledge of the range of drinks, and fantastic recommendations for food around the town. I visit O’Connells not very often, but when I do Paul will always remember the name and background even if months have passed. Paul is also a gent to all tourists who pass through the doors of O’Connells, looking after them, in any way he can, great to see there’s still some fantastic service in the Galway pub scene. Looking forward to the next creamy Guinness pint at O’Connell’s soon

We only had a Guinness and a Baileys on the rocks; but the prices are considerably cheaper than in other places in the area. The atmosphere is relaxed.

Fantastic pub with a great atmosphere. Friendly staff, good drinks, and excellent food. Always a welcoming place to relax and enjoy yourself — highly recommend!

What a bar O'Connells is. Big shout out to Wojtek (apologies for the spelling), fantastic service from him he truly made our experience special. Best Guinness in Galway. Fantastic live music every night & 200+ different types of whiskey!

O’Connell’s was a great pub for a drink near the bustling Latin Quarter. While it is located just off of busy Eyre Square, it was still cozy and comfortable. Many locals popped in and the bartender knew them by name. Speaking of, Paul was great and provided good conversation and a good recommendation for dinner (Brasserie).
