Had food here and it was fabulous 👌

Before I say anything, I have the rooms at one as I didn't stay overnight thus I can't provide an opinion. However, I can provide an opinion on the food and service and I can't have a higher opinion on both. The staff are incredibly friendly and the food is amazing. I was with an event and we had a seperate area to the rear of the hotel. The staff offered us coffee and tea after the meal. There's a decently big menu for people to choose along with a bar for drinks.

We stayed in the Darnley August Bank Holiday and could not find a fault 5out of 5. Food and breakfast excellent and staff very helpful be back again. Lots of car parking free.

We recently had a family reunion in the Darnley, staff were lovely and couldn't do enough for us to ensure we had a great day, food was great and rooms were lovely and well priced. Highly recommend 👌

Hi all. My wife and I first met in The Old Darnley Lodge in 2003 at our Debs. Then we got married here in 2011, the most wonderful , most perfect day imaginable. This was majorly due to the perfect staff led by the forever fantastic Joe McGoveren . Epic food, friendly vibes and one of the best pints of Guinness that I ever tasted. My wife and I are 13 years married ( we come back every year, without fail ) . From the minute we arrived we were floored by the kindness and generosity of the staff and management namely Hazel ,Dave and Joe they are three shining examples of management done right and that greatness is truly in the DNA of the Darnley Lodge and always will be. The food, the drinks were truly excellent. Every team member had service with a smile ( shoutout Theo and Mary). The kids had a blast , we were taken on the tour of the ballroom , so the kids could see where we had our wedding reception. We stayed 1 night and it was truly one of the best days of our lives. I truly cannot recommand this place enough, the management and staff are truly in a league of their own and are second to none. In closing, thanks again for more incredible memories, we will be back .

We would like to thank Darnley Lodge Hotel for a wonderful welcome and beautiful dinner on the 4th July 2024. A group of 58 travelled from Ashbourne and were greeted by management and staff at the door & then served a beautiful 3 course meal followed by music by Matt Leavy. A lovely afternoon, would highly recommend for a large group. Thank you Eilish , Kay and the Ashbourne senior citizens group.

We had our daughter's 18th birthday party in the Darnley yesterday and what a fantastic experience. Joe and all the staff went above and beyond to make her day so special. Nothing was too much trouble and the service, warmth and professionalism of Joe and staff was outstanding. If you are looking for a hotel to host a function choose the Darnley because you won't be disappointed.

My friend and I stayed here last night, we were very impressed without clean and comfortable the rooms were. We had a drink in the bar where the lovely barmaid Mary was a pleasure, friendly and chatty. David the owner checked us in and he was also extremely helpful. The breakfast was absolutely delicious with a fabulous choice including a veggie option. Would definitely recommend this place and will definitely return. A lovely experience.
