This is an exceptional hotel in the classic mould - deep carpets, elegant wallpapers, original artworks and outstanding service. The breakfast is great and the various dining options are very good. I feel positively cocooned!

Couldn't be nicer. A warm welcome, roaring fire in the hall, superb food and service and located right in the centre of town and easy walking distance from the train. Spacious and comfortable quiet room. Really enjoyed my stay during the wonderful Ennis Bookclub Festival. Oh and did I mention the interesting and eclectic art collection?

Firstly, I’d like to say this is a really lovely hotel. The staff are lovely and so helpful, the food in both the bar and restaurant is excellent. I love that the breakfast is served to your table and not a buffet. I went with a party of 5 friends and booked a triple and twin room. I had asked, if possible, to have 3 x single beds in the triple and they didn’t disappoint. The room was large, airy and excellent. Unfortunately, the twin on the 5th floor had a few small issues. It was a little tired looking and could do with refurbishment. The twin beds were pushed together, more like a double. The main issue though was trying to regulate the heating. The room was very hot during the night, but it was too cold to put on air conditioning. We did turn off the heating at night, but I think there must have been a timer set as it kept coming back on during the night. In fairness when I phoned reception about it on arrival, they did send a porter up who showed us how to work the heating system, but it just never seemed to regulate properly. The towels were also very small in size, I would usually expect large bath towels in a hotel, but we managed and this is just a very small issue. Our room was cleaned after the first night, but no toilet roll was replaced despite there being none in the bathroom. However, these were all small issues which perhaps the hotel can take on board. Overall, we had a lovely stay and would definitely return.
