Old Ground Hotel in Ennis

Such a charming hotel in a great location in the heart of Ennis town. The food was superb and staff were friendly and helpful. We will definitely return !

I stayed at the Old Ground Hotel in Ennis for a work trip and had such a lovely experience. The hotel has so much character – it feels warm, welcoming, and full of charm. The staff were incredibly kind and went out of their way to accommodate my dietary requirements, which I really appreciated. The food was absolutely amazing, every meal was a treat, and the rooms were beautiful – really comfortable and tastefully done. It’s a great spot if you’re visiting for business or just looking for a relaxing break. Would definitely come back!

Had dinner in Town Hall, really good food. Relaxed atmosphere great staff.

Had a meal and drinks in the bar. Great service and reasonable food. Will go again.

Charm in the best location in Clare.

We stayed the night at the hotel as we were attending an event there. The welcome was warm. Our room was very comfortable. A great bed, walk in shower, underfloor heating in the bathroom. We enjoyed the dinner, the service was great. Breakfast was enjoyable the following morning. Hopefully we will be back. It is a central location in Ennis but the road outside was blocked with roadworks and the weather was poor and time short so we didn't venture further into Ennis.

Had a family reunion there last Saturday, second year in a row and rebooked for next year.Welcoming,warm with friendly efficient staff,deliciousfood.Couldnt recommend enough...well done.

Beautiful old hotel in the middle of Ennis. Pedestrian shopping street right outside the door. Extra points for having a cat.

Grounded due to a brutal artic blast in my native County Clare, last weekend I was unable to fly back to London from a snow clad Shannon airport. After a delay, we were all bussed back to nearby Ennis, which became my Groundhog Day home for the next 48 hours, and much to my surprise, I became a tourist rediscovering diammy own backyard. Staying in the luxurious and landmark Old Ground Hotel, which is traditional and beautiful, our little group of non fliers quickly became firm friends. We looked out for each other at breakfast each morning to discuss the latest weather updates, flight statuses, the best places to get Wi-Fi, and good tea. The staff could not have been nicer, and honestly, they are the jewels in this hotel's crown. Oh, and there's even a characterful resident hotel cat called OG who welcomes all. I took the opportunity to look at the wedding packages on offer, and being a celebrant, I hope to work with this amazing hotel in the future. I was on my own but never felt alone within the hotel. From its central location, it was easy and safe to navigate from and to. I will definitely come back and stay with my family. Snow days with silver linings, you could say.
