Old Ground Hotel in Ennis

Love the dining room here. Menu is varied and everything we had was just delicious pate, seafood chowder , seafood food melody (but boring) mains of beef, duck and salmon all superb. Desserts of cheese cake and bread and butter pudding (bit dry and bland) . €39 for lunch . Worth it !! Staffed by highly trained waiters and waitresses all very friendly and most efficient.

3rd time here, gets booked out very quickly so take your chance when you can. Lovely hotel in the centre of Ennis town, rooms large, clean and very comfortable. Kettle and coffee machine, safe and plenty of storage. Bathroom with bath and shower in. Staff always very friendly and helpful. Had dinner outside I the garden as the weather was lovely.

WONDERFUL! We had a one-night stay on Aug 5th and it was perfection! Ideal location in the town center, very friendly helpful staff, and superb room. We got in late-ish and asked for a food recommendation, and the front desk recommended Poet's Corner, part of the hotel. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was super. Breakfast was a delight! The experience was so fantastic that I've just booked another night later in Aug.

Never fails really nice hotel and a nice bar

Great hotel. Main elevators were not operating due to a part. The hotel allowed the service elevator to be used which was a big help. Food is amazing. The lamb chops were one of the best I have ever had. Tender, lots of flavor and paired with mashed potatoes. The Poets Corner offers Pub food and has trad sessions. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return.

Located downtown, has really nice staff and really nice rooms. The food and beer is good too!

Good place to stay while passing through (which was our case) with parking. 2 types of restaurants. One is more of a pub with a decent selection. Music some evenings. A classic hotel.

Beautiful place. Very clean. No air conditioning in our room. Not handicap friendly, limited number of accessable rooms. Had to use service elevator and climb up and down stairs to get to room. Main Elevator out of service the 2 days we were there. Nice friendly pub. First class breakfast.
