O'Reilly's Bar & Kitchen in Galway

Simply delicious meals, well seasoned... Large portions... Exceptional service from the waitresses!!!

First time to Ireland and Galway. Great view of Galway Bay but the service was not so good. Food was just ok.

Food was fine but not much atmosphere

La comida aquí es muy buena. La única razón por la que fue clasificado 3 estrellas fue el servicio. Estábamos en un almuerzo tarde alrededor de las 2. 45 . Hubo varias llegadas en esa época y solo una camarera. Hizo todo lo posible, pero la dirección debe darse cuenta de que una camarera no es suficiente para un lugar ocupado en este momento.

Great food in the salthill promenade. We were baffled by the many options along the promenade. And omg thecsmelss coming from each place!! It was wedesday late afternoon (around 5.30pm) so it was hard to judge by amount if customers dining. Most were having drinks or coffee. So we decided to chose baeed on looks and name. The place looked very nice (green facade) 100% Irish pub look. not many people but the smells from the kitchen were good indication food was going to be good. Only a few tables with customers and we got serviced right away. My current fav cocktail is Moscow mule and I use it as reference to order cocktails and rate a bar's quality fir cocktails. This one was right all the way. Served in the proper size copper mug. The key to a great cocktail is to taste the ingredient except the liquor and this one was perfect. Ginger beer touch of lemon/lime and just enough ice to keep it cold but not atered down. We order BBQ wings as appetizer. Cooked to perfection with a smokey not too sweet sticky sauce. Just perfect. Very large serving which we shared. I ordered the cold seafood fish platter because why would you eat a burger in the coast of Ireland with the beautiful seafood options they serve, so the platter which again is big enough for 2 is a fantastic sampler. Only the oysters is only one i would put at least 2. I have to say it would be nice if the restaurant offered an entree of oysters. The one in the platter was so delicious and fresh I could have just eaten a dozen on them. This is the place to have fresh seafood. The platter comes with a nice variety for those craving fresh meats like crab meat, shrimp (prawns in a light creamy dressing), smoked mackerel fillet and generous portion of smoked salmon slices. 2 slices of soda bread. I didnt finish all. My husband had the O'Reilly stew also very generous portion of stew with really tender meat and dark thick sauce like the irish nans make...I'm not Irish but my my husband is. So I trust him when he says the stew is like home made...and mashed potato's simply presented but rich in flavor and textures. We have nothing but praise. Definitely a place to come back because by the looks of dishes ordered around us many options look awesome like the burgers (i will stick to sea plates) and chocolate browny. Service was fast and friendly. And coming from NL, I have to mention the wide straight stairs down to the toilets, (proper stairs is one of those things the Dutch don't have, maybe in remodeled palaces or museums) so I even took a picture :D

Seated very quickly, very fast and efficient service. Staff lovely great food. Would highly recommend Guinness stew.

Sunday roast was the best meal I've had in Ireland so far! Generous portion of veg, mash, roasted potatoes, beef and gravy with a Yorkshire pudding.
