Oriel Hotel in Cork

Service is great, but the rooms are smelly.

So far so good the room looks a nice and comfy.

The talbot hotel in Ballincollig is a beautiful venue from the moment you walk in. The girl at reception who checked us in was so lovely and when we got into the Ellis suite room we were so shocked, it was incredible. It was also great for the price as well. I would really recommend you stay here as it’s a nice area and there is bus stops close by as well to get you into the city. We will definitely be back! Thank you!!

Everything was lovely from start to finish, I told them previously that it was my partners birthday and the little touches they included made it special. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, cocktails very nice and the pool and sauna were enjoyed.

Great experience with my friends we had dinner in the bistro and all 5 of us really rated the food, top class, recommended this hotel

The rooms are stunning and spacious. They have water fountains everywhere for filling up your water bottles. Staff is nice and friendly, however the breakfast and bar service was atrocious. The breakfast bar is nearly empty at 9am, both mornings. People waiting to get seated, get their teas, coffees and breakfast. Juice jugs empty, pastry trays empty, hot food empty. We were attending a wedding so it’s not like we were the only ones there. For ages there was only one lady there seating everyone and doing all the work, bless her. Then in the bar.. two ladies working there, yet neither of them allowed to pour pints.. just poorly run and managed. The stuff is clearly new and needs proper training and management on hand and not being left alone. Leisure centre was class.

Stayed for 2 nights. Spacious comfortable room and friendly staff. Good location. Nice to have water fountains for refills. Fixtures and fittings were modern and good but one star off as it could have been cleaner. Carpets in our room didn't seem to have been vacuumed very well before we checked in.

Good service... Gym pool facilities are good.
