Irish coffee - the perfect balance of rich, bold coffee, smooth Irish whiskey, and a velvety cream layer on top.

Since the Brazen Head was full, we settled on this pub, very large, the usual live music in a room, but the meat frankly not exceptional, the dishes didn't blow us away, the staff a bit annoyed.

In Dublin’s hum where laughter flows, And pints rise high in amber glows, There stands a man both sharp and swift— Good Keith, who turns each night a gift. With easy grin and watchful eye, He’s there before you wonder why, A perfect pour, a well-timed cheer, He keeps the whole room bright with beer. Through clink of glass and stories spun, He works like music, never done— So here’s to Keith, both kind and keen, The finest server Dublin’s seen.

I can give it 4 stars because the food was a bit tasteless and it was brought out very slowly, we expected something better. However, we were seated in the cozy candlelit interior, which I really liked. The traditional Irish live music also added to the good atmosphere.

Keith You are a bright spot To always bring my Guinness stout And always there to share a shout As Jameson says It’s the water of life Well Keith, my friend, You’re the man I need instead of a wife. Three days in a row Made memorable here and now You made our trip better And for that I saw… Wow! So to you, Keith, I say you’re better than the rest And thanks for the memories You are truly the best.

A great local pub with good food, a wide selection of drinks and a very pleasant, homely atmosphere, despite being located right in the city centre.

Very good place with good prices. We were here several times. Ate some of the starters which are large and small to choose from. The small portions were plenty for me!

Mullingar House

23/03/2026: Staying with work in The West County Hotel and went for walk in Phoenix Park. Called in here for bite to eat and a drink on way back. first thing that strikes you is the interior is really nice and the pub has real character. Food was excellent with an extensive menu and staff were just nice people. Will definitely be back and would strongly recommend it. It's outside appearance doesn't prepare you for how nice it is inside.
21/03/2026: The incredible historical depth and the remarkably cozy atmosphere of this premier traditional pub in the heart of Chapelizod make it an absolutely spectacular destination for anyone who values authentic Irish hospitality and literary heritage in Dublin. I spent a long time enjoying a perfectly poured pint and exploring the classic wooden interior because the general energy of the building is very inviting and every single corner offers a level of vintage charm that is remarkably consistent with the high standards of historic Dublin establishments. I really loved the professional kindness of the local bartenders and the thoughtful preservation of the Joyce related memorabilia because the balance of the old world tradition and the friendly community vibe is truly impressive and it provides a satisfying and rewarding experience for every visitor. The facility is maintained with a great sense of local pride and I noticed that the environment remains respectful and warm for families looking for a relaxing meal after a long walk through the nearby Phoenix Park grounds. It is a must visit for any resident or traveler who appreciates a well managed independent pub where the quality of the service is a main priority and the surrounding views of the Liffey river add a layer of natural beauty to the entire visit. I also appreciated the clean organization of the seating areas and the general sense of warmth within the lounge because it encourages a relaxed and mindful appreciation of the local pub culture while soaking in the vibrant charm of the Dublin landscape. Even though it is a popular spot for weekend regulars the organization of the service is executed with such care that you always feel like a valued guest during your stay. I will definitely be returning here soon for another evening because the combination of the prime location and the unbeatable historical profile is truly a highlight of the local neighborhood scene.
