This is my third visit to Oxtail. I went with a family party of 4 for a birthday celebration. Thank you to the chef as we had the most amazing food. It was made with care and attention to detail. Each course complimented the last one. Each of us ordered differently and honestly every dish was delicious. It was a real treat and was perfect for us. Thank đ you to the servers who made a birthday candle on our desert. Well worth a visit. đđ Frances B x
My family and I went here for my birthday this week, having been here on a couple of special occasions over the past year and having enjoyed the experience immensely on each occasion.
This visit was no different. The food was incredible from start to finish. The menu is interesting, diverse and well-curated; itâs clear that the chef places a lot of value on choosing fresh, seasonal ingredients and their passion for food really shines through. We all had different starters - my Dad particularly enjoyed the starter special that was on the menu that evening! I honestly wish I could have tried all the starters - they all sounded delicious. Our mains were similarly excellent. Melt in the mouth beef shin and steaks cooked to perfection. I also loved that my steak was served with sides that werenât run of the mill - the mix of flavours was divine. The dessert was also great! Nice wine list too, had some white to start and red with our mains.
Service was quick and attentive. Staff were very friendly and accommodating.
We had a fabulous evening, such a treat as always.
I have to highlight as others have that this place is really special and having been a few times now I felt it was time to leave a review as I really think this is one of the top spots in the West âHidden gemâ is an overused phrase sometimes but Oxtail really deserves that title! Already looking forward to my next meal here!!
Went to Oxtail last Thursday with 3 friends had been there a few times before and had a fantastic time we were a bit disappointed this time food good but didnât have the wow as before. It was quiet and little ambience on that night. a table cloth would add warmth to the table. I loved my main which was an orzo risotto with peas and courgette which was delicious. My friends liked thereâs but didnât like the taste of the jus with the chicken and braised shin beef.
Second visit. Still sitting here on a beautiful sunny early Sunday evening after indulging in the most beautifully cooked food. Seriously, this place is an absolute must for Sunday lunch. Sirloin beef last time I was here was so perfect, no salt and pepper required, added nothing extra to the plate, it was immaculate. This time I had roast leg of lamb (a personal favourite regardless) and again stunning. As a 25year hospitality professional, this is as good as it gets.
